Last week we began to look forward to our signature project – Our Kiwanis/First Tee Golf outing. We met at First Tee – Southern Colorado where they explained how our yearly golf outing provides support to hundreds of kids in our community to build inner strength, self-confidence, and resilience that kids carry to everything they do. This is the 8th year for our golf outing. Mark your calendars now for our golf outing on Aug 3rd. Come out and have fun while helping kids.

We had our first Kiwanis Checkered Flag Charity Car Show at Metcalfe Park in Fountain yesterday and it was a huge success. We had close to 90 entrants, and we raised a lot of money for kids. Bert West, former Kiwanis International President, Andrea Weule, Governor-Elect, and Fountain Mayor Sharon Thompson were among the hundreds who came out to the show. Hat’s off to all the planners and volunteers. It was a beautiful day and the cars were immaculate. But most importantly we help raise money for kids in our community. Thanks to all who came out yesterday!

Save the Date!!!

On Saturday, June 6,2026 from 9:00-12:00, our Kiwanis Club of Colorado Springs will be supporting a bed-build service project with Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP).

We also hope members from other area Kiwanis Clubs, ie the Pikes Peak Kiwanis, Monument Hill Kiwanis, the Ute Pass – Woodland Park Kiwanis Club, Pueblo Kiwanis, and our Fountain Valley Satellite will all turn out to support this worthwhile cause!

Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) is a nonprofit organization that provides beds and bedding to children who are sleeping on the floor. They believe service is about much more than constructing beds for kids in need. Their mission of NO KID SLEEPS ON THE FLOOR IN OUR TOWN! extends to building communities, transforming lives, and creating opportunities for personal growth and learning.

After our service project we plan to gather for lunch at Bubba’s 33 where every dollar spent eating at Bubba’s provides 15 cents to our foundation.

It will be a great Kiwanis day!
