On Saturday, August 29, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the main meeting hall will be repainted. The Building Board is asking for at least two volunteers from each organization (Legionnaires, Auxiliary, Sons, Riders) to assist. A team of six to eight people would be greatly appreciated, and food will be provided at the end of the shift. Contact us via messenger here, if able to assist.

VA Eastern Colorado is hosting Warrior Fest at the John Venezia Park in Colorado Springs, on, Sept. 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Warrior Fest is a resource fair designed to celebrate and assist veterans with getting connected to VA and community services and resources.

"Pin-up" pins down Bronze!
Sonie Rathbun, U.S. Army Lt. Col. (retired), is a perfect example of how life can take you anywhere after service, and how a veteran can shine in any avenue of choice! This soldier signed up once again, but for the Pikes Peak Hot Rod Rock & Rumble, 2026 Vintage Pin Up Pageant. Our Legionnaire & Rider known as "Pin-up", not only had the guts to compete, but the gumption to become a finalist.

E-4 Mafia Strikes Again! Steals kiss from E-6 Wife, Air Force witnesses. WW2 Naval Veteran, Petty Officer 3rd Class Jerry Bosley, turned 100 years old this week and was pinned by the VFW. Local COS Veteran & Auxiliary organizations lined up to give well wishes and gifts, to a family man that spent his entire life, serving his community, church and charities. With his daughter sitting next to him, she was able to get a glimpse of the young sailor she never knew, and the young man her Mother fell in love with.

This weekend is the Salute to American Veterans Rally in Cripple Creek. Even if you are not a rider this is a great event to attend - whether it's the rally itself in Cripple Creek or watching over 1000 bikes during the parade from Woodland Park.

For the riders - more details on linkup times and staging will be put out at tonight's riders meeting.

VFW invites Post 5 to celebrate WW2 Naval Veteran, Jerry Bosley's 100th birthday!

We honored Petty Officer Bosley's 100 years of adventure, love and selflessness. His highlights are sailing through the Panama Canal, landing in Guam during WW2, finding the love of his life, creating a beautiful family, being the Director of the Boys' Club, mentoring youth, giving time and energy to charities and running several businesses. Jerry brought down the house with several other residents at their assisted living facility, and showed the rest of us how it's done! With the Air Force Band providing the tunes, Jerry provided the charm and charisma. Senior Vice had a few words sailor to sailor, and it goes to show regardless of the generation being a veteran is common ground.
