We need to wonder, to dream, to hope. When we risk astonishment – opening our souls to its unsettling influence – we step through the portal to fullness of life. We begin to imagine new possibilities. We begin to see through a new lens. Flourish welcomes us to this place of wonder and new possibilities. As a redemptive arts momentum engaging the imaginative, the creative and the beautiful, Flouris

h reactivates our capacity for joy, awe and believing in the impossible. By advocating for relentless good and outrageous hope through creative discovery, Flourish unlocks the immense potential in all of us, inviting us to unleash the wonder through three platforms:

• Art for Life Initiative – community classes/workshops defined by nurturing community, joy and creative discovery in dance (ballet, lyrical, jazz, worship dance), fine art (drawing, painting. photography), poetry and visual storytelling to all ages and skill levels

• Studio29 – Loving the artist more than the art while exploring the life changing capacity of the arts to transform community. Inspired by Jer. 29:7, “Seek the peace of the city,” Studio29 invites artists of all genres to enlarge their own creative journey through community building and cultural advocacy

“What if artists and poets began to serve culture and seek each other, rather than striving for and retreating into self expression? What if artists and poets lost themselves in the process of giving themselves away” (M. Fujimura)?

• Blessed Are the Peacemakers – Proactively addressing key cultural concerns and issues through hope informed art; an annual public gallery/performing arts event utilizing the beauty and life activating capacity of the arts to inform, inspire and engage community

BGU’s Leadership in the Arts Concentration is designed to equip leaders to engage the life enhancing truths of the arts and their change capacities. Consisting of three courses, LIA 701 (Art, Faith and Compelling Grace), LIA 702 (The Artful City), and LIA 703 (Integrating the Visual Arts into the Life of the Church - offered during the 2023 Summer Term), these Courses inspire and compel leaders to integrate the confluence of faith, imagination, creativity and authentic change into their areas of expertise.

Flourish is a redemptive arts nonprofit committed to engaging creativity for compassion’s sake. We believe the artistic process is ultimately transformational, taking art beyond the transaction into the realm of the transcendent, where beauty, truth, inclusive community and healing change are freely experienced. Through three areas of focus: gallery outreach (fine art), a contemporary dance company and a community arts program (offering classes to all ages and skill levels in dance and fine art), we engage the confluence of faith, art, beauty and generative culture care, inviting a broken world into the fullness of life.
