Don’Neice is , and she’s keeping it local.

This September, she’ll be getting her miles in around Memorial Park, Quail Lake, Garden of the Gods, and throughout Colorado Springs, with a little help from her fiancé along the way.

But for Don’Neice, the RiseUP Elevation Challenge is about much more than getting outside and moving.

It’s about raising awareness for the programs RiseUP provides, supporting the people we serve, and helping generate critical funds at a time when funding cuts across Colorado are having a very real impact on organizations like ours.

That’s the heart of this Challenge: everyone can participate in their own way, in their own community, for a reason that matters to them.

Choose 5,000 feet of elevation or 15 miles of distance and walk, hike, run, climb, stroll, or roll your way through September.

September 1 is almost here. There’s still time to join Don’Neice and the rest of the RiseUP community.

We’re proud to have Wilderness On Wheels Foundation joining us for the 2026 RiseUP Elevation Challenge.

For 40 years, Wilderness On Wheels has helped make the Colorado outdoors more accessible, including wheelchair-accessible mountain and creekside boardwalks, fishing, camping, and other outdoor experiences designed to help more people enjoy the beauty of nature.

Now it’s your turn to rise with them.

From September 1–30, choose your challenge:

5,000 feet of elevation
or
15 miles of distance

Walk, hike, run, climb, stroll, or roll your way through September. Participate individually or create a team with your friends, family, coworkers, or community.

And when you register, you can choose Wilderness On Wheels as the nonprofit you’re supporting. **Half of the proceeds raised through your participant fundraising page will go directly to the nonprofit you select.**

September is almost here. Now is the time to get your team together and get registered.

Why are you climbing?

For one RiseUP team member, the answer is simple: because she can.

After a time in her life when walking, let alone climbing wasn’t something her body could easily do, she’s taking on 5,000 feet of elevation throughout September with a purpose bigger than the climb itself.

She’s climbing for the people RiseUP serves.
She’s climbing alongside coworkers who show up every day.
She’s climbing to raise awareness.
And she’s climbing to remind our community to keep moving forward.

That’s what the RiseUP Elevation Challenge is all about. Your reason is personal. Your movement is your own. Your impact is shared.

Choose 5,000 feet of elevation or 15 miles of distance and walk, hike, run, climb, stroll, or roll your way through September.

The challenge begins September 1. There’s still time to join us.

At RiseUP, we celebrate the strengths, individuality, and potential of every person in our community.

Creating space for neurodivergent individuals to thrive starts with understanding—and grows through connection, engagement, and shared experiences.

That’s the kind of community we’re building.
