After 15 years as stewards of Age-Friendly design in our region, Innovations in Aging Collaborative is proud to pass the mission back to the community. Our long partnership with the City of Colorado Springs, along with our recent work throughout El Paso County, have together laid the foundation for ongoing Age-Friendly initiatives across the Pikes Peak region.
Please join us for an Age-Friendly proclamation and mission handoff on April 23, 2024, from 10:00am-2:00pm at the Colorado Springs City Council Meeting held in the Council Chambers on the third floor of City Hall located at 107 N. Nevada Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
Following the handoff of the mission, it is with a heavy heart that we also announce the closure of Innovations in Aging Collaborative, to be completed over the coming months. We are confident that the spirit of Age-Friendly innovation and collaboration that has defined this work from the beginning will continue to flourish through those who remain dedicated to serving aging in our community.
We would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who has supported our mission over the years. Your dedication, passion, and hard work have been instrumental in our collective efforts. Together, we have achieved so much and made a lasting, positive impact on our region. Special thanks to our founders and emeritus board members, including BJ Scott, Barbara Yalich, David Lord, and Shawn Raintree, and the numerous members of the community who have served on our Board of Directors over the years.
We extend our best wishes to everyone involved in developing the Age-Friendly Pikes Peak action plan. We also offer sincere gratitude to the leadership of our Executive Director, Erin Maruzzella, as she works to sustain the momentum of the mission through careful handoff to every community organization and volunteer committed to seeing this important work continue.
Please reach out to Erin ([email protected]) to connect with ongoing volunteer efforts that we anticipate will continue after our closure.
Thank you once again for your unwavering support and dedication. It has been an honor and a privilege to work alongside such passionate individuals and organizations.
Sincerely,
Dayton Romero, Board Chair
