DGL Conference 2026 – Burundi 🇧🇮

This August, DGL Burundi gathered students and supervisors for three unforgettable days of connection, mentorship, and learning.
With Dr. Cyriac as a special guest, participants reflected on the important role of education in leadership and celebrated the growth of their community. It was a meaningful time of sharing, learning from one another, and growing together🙏🏽

Glory to God for this wonderful experience and for all He is doing through the DGL community in Burundi!

Meet Dominik from Poland.

He was once just a kid showing up to Young Life club. Then a DGL scholarship gave him the chance to go to university.

Today he is the Country Director for Young Life Poland, husband, father of two, and a leader who is giving his life to make sure the next Polish teenager gets the same chance he did.

Nearly 300 DGL graduates are now full-time Young Life staff in their own countries. That is what this program was built for.

How DGL Works: A Simple Process with Life-Changing Impact

STEP 1: Young Life Identifies Promising Leaders

Young Life identifies promising leaders who have what it takes to succeed in university in their own country—students with demonstrated leadership, a heart to serve, a personal relationship with Jesus, and economic need.

STEP 2: Sponsors Fund Their Scholarship

DGL students are sponsored by individuals or groups who fund their DGL scholarship, providing full tuition, Young Life leadership training, and a living stipend.

STEP 3: Students Earn a Degree While Leading

DGL students earn a university degree while serving as volunteer Young Life leaders in their own community—investing in the next generation while preparing for their professional future.

This simple model creates extraordinary impact: students break cycles of poverty, become influencers for Christ in their professions, and multiply their impact by recruiting and training new Young Life leaders.
