Developing Global Leaders

Today we celebrate 85 years of Young Life! 🎉

We’re so grateful for this incredible tool in God’s hands. For 85 years, He has used leaders to show kids around the world that they are known, loved, and invited into life with Jesus.

Jim Rayburn named two biblical essentials for every Young Life leader: present Jesus Christ and love people.
Today we’re especially thankful for the 700+ DGL students around the world who are living out exactly that. They love God and the people around them in their universities, churches, and communities, and they’re growing into leaders who will carry this mission into the next generation.

To every leader, staff member, volunteer, and friend who has been part of this story: thank you. And to God be the glory for all He has done and all that is still to come 💛

Jesus invites us to come away with Him, to slow down and simply be with Him.
This year’s theme reminds us that wherever we are and whatever challenges we face, we are never alone. God’s presence sustains us, strengthens us, and gives us hope.

As you pray today, please remember our leaders and ministries across the world🌍

Thank you for standing with us in prayer. We’re grateful to be part of a community that seeks God together, across borders and time zones🙏🏽🤍

Have you ever wondered what university in Armenia looks like? 🇦🇲

Meet Geghetsik, one of our new class students, who studies Law at the French University in Armenia🎓

Young Life is also an important part of her life, where she serves and invests in the next generation.
As a Developing Global Leader, she hopes to grow through her studies and ministry, use her knowledge to serve others, and make a positive impact in her community.

We’re excited to see where this journey takes her and all of our students!⭐️

On October 13, Young Life around the world comes together for our Global Day of Prayer🌍

Prayer is our first work.
We’re a mission born out of prayer, and God has been with us every step of the way. As we celebrate those who’ve gone before us, we get to pause, give thanks for His faithfulness and ask Him to lead us into what’s next.

Join with Young Life around the world to spend time with the Lord🙏🏽

As semesters begin for DGL leaders worldwide, will you pray?

For many DGL students, this is the season of new beginnings—new semesters, new classes, new challenges, and new opportunities to lead.

Some are starting their first year, nervous and hopeful. Others are balancing heavy course loads while running Young Life clubs in their communities. Many are navigating university in countries where educational opportunities are scarce, and the pressure to succeed runs deep.

This is the moment when they need prayer most.

Pray for:
- Academic breakthrough and wisdom
- Strength to balance studies and Young Life leadership
- Protection and provision for their families
- Courage to live out their faith on campus
- Clarity on their callings and futures

You don't have to be a financial sponsor to make a difference. Your prayers are some of the greatest gifts DGL students can receive.

Will you join us in praying for students as they step into this new season?

DGL Conference 2026 – Burundi 🇧🇮

This August, DGL Burundi gathered students and supervisors for three unforgettable days of connection, mentorship, and learning.
With Dr. Cyriac as a special guest, participants reflected on the important role of education in leadership and celebrated the growth of their community. It was a meaningful time of sharing, learning from one another, and growing together🙏🏽

Glory to God for this wonderful experience and for all He is doing through the DGL community in Burundi!

How DGL Works: A Simple Process with Life-Changing Impact

STEP 1: Young Life Identifies Promising Leaders

Young Life identifies promising leaders who have what it takes to succeed in university in their own country—students with demonstrated leadership, a heart to serve, a personal relationship with Jesus, and economic need.

STEP 2: Sponsors Fund Their Scholarship

DGL students are sponsored by individuals or groups who fund their DGL scholarship, providing full tuition, Young Life leadership training, and a living stipend.

STEP 3: Students Earn a Degree While Leading

DGL students earn a university degree while serving as volunteer Young Life leaders in their own community—investing in the next generation while preparing for their professional future.

This simple model creates extraordinary impact: students break cycles of poverty, become influencers for Christ in their professions, and multiply their impact by recruiting and training new Young Life leaders.
