DGL Alumni: Where Are They Now?

Young Life’s Developing Global Leaders has produced university graduates, biblically trained and academically prepared to impact their local communities with the gospel.

Where they are today:
📊 Nearly 1/3 serve as full-time Young Life staff in their own countries—an intentional leadership development strategy to grow Young Life ministry around the globe.

💼 Others pursue careers in education, engineering, finance, social work, medicine, communications, and other professions, bringing Kingdom values into every aspect of society.

From students to staff. From graduates to game-changers. This is the long-term impact of DGL sponsorship.

«I Want to Rebuild My Country»

This DGL student in Haiti is studying architecture with a mission: build safe houses that can withstand earthquakes and protect families from future disasters.

But he’s not just rebuilding structures—he’s rebuilding lives. As a Young Life leader, he’s sharing Jesus with kids, discovering their talents, and watching transformation happen.

«God is the architect of the universe, and it’s a work for every Christian to share the truth.»

One student. Two callings. Infinite impact.

Joe Laboon — a man with ALS, 19 sponsored students, and a dream to see 100 DGL graduates before he meets the One who gave him that dream.

Jouhline — a nurse in Haiti whose entire trajectory changed because someone said yes.

Now we want to make the ask directly.

We have two goals for the Love Like Mr. Joe Fund:

$1M — ensures Joe’s dream of 100 graduates is fully realized.
$2.2M — doubles it. 200 graduates. 200 lives and communities transformed.

Every dollar is held in an interest-bearing account through the Young Life Foundation and allocated directly to a Developing Global Leaders student’s four-year university education.

If those numbers feel large, here’s where to start:

$3,000 funds one year of a student’s education.
$12,000 sponsors a student completely.

Joe isn’t asking anyone to honor him. He’s inviting us to love like him — to look at a young leader halfway around the world and say: your education matters, your future matters, and we are going to do something about it.

Will you join him?
