Colorado Springs Ladies Events

Colorado Springs Ladies Events With the dedication of our volunteers, and sponsors, CSLE (Colorado Springs Ladies Events, inc.)

engages with the Colorado Springs community to provide fundraising events to bring awareness to small local non-profit organizations in Colorado Springs, CO. The Colorado Springs Ladies Events became a local 501 (c)(3) nonprofit charity organization 2022. We partner with small local nonprofits to fundraise, work together for their cause and advocate for their mission while empowering the community

. As we have done since we formed the group in 2006 we continue to hold our annual Costume Party in October for ladies only. We feel this offers local ladies a safe and fun environment to have an afternoon to dress-up, have good food, play games, win prizes, enjoy themselves and make new friends. CSLE is currently partnered with Partners in Housing for the 2022-2023 year

Since 2007, we have worked with: Care & Share Food Bank; Colorado Springs Fire Department/Police Department; Urban Peak; Ronald McDonald House; The Colorado Springs Therapeutic Riding Center; and TESSA of Colorado Springs

We hope you will join our next event and get to see for yourself how much fun you can have! We look forward to our new future as a non-profit organization and all the things we can accomplish!

🚑 What happens when EMTs seek counseling?

My dissertation explored the lived experiences of emergency medical technicians who sought individual counseling. While research has consistently shown that EMTs experience high rates of stress, trauma exposure, burnout, and su***de risk, far less research has focused on what happens after they decide to seek help.

Through qualitative interviews with EMTs across the United States, three major themes emerged:

🔎 Not Knowing Where to Look for Help
Many EMTs reported difficulty finding mental health services or understanding where to start. Even when resources like EAPs existed, they were often hard to locate, poorly explained, or perceived as lacking confidentiality.

🤝 Not Feeling Understood
Participants frequently described feeling that counselors did not fully understand the realities of EMT work, including repeated exposure to death, critical incidents, and the culture of emergency services.

🎓 Limited Education About First Responders
EMTs noted that while many counselors were trained in trauma treatment, few had training specific to first responder culture and occupational experiences. This sometimes led to misinterpretation of adaptive behaviors developed in the field.

The findings highlight an important takeaway:

➡ Encouraging help-seeking is not enough.
Mental health services must also be accessible, culturally informed, and responsive to the realities of first responder work.

Improving counselor education and increasing awareness of first responder culture may strengthen therapeutic relationships and improve engagement in care.

This research contributes to the growing conversation about how to better support the mental health of EMS professionals.

Will post the article as soon as it is released.

We are pleased to announce Status Code 4, Inc as our designated charity for 2026!

“Our name comes from Dispatches frequent question after they have not heard from a unit for a while. "Med unit, what's your status?"

If everything was all right, we would answer, "Code 4"

Our goal at SC4I is to help all First Responders we service get to the point where their
status is "Code 4.”

Did you know the 1 in 3 First Responders experience Posttraumatic Stress (PTS), and if left untreated may lead to PTSI (Injury)?

SC4I has developed training materials to enhance treatment for First Responders with PTSI.

Now, we're expanding on that program to include and help their family members.

Colorado has 50,150 First Responders, with 30% experiencing Posttraumatic Stress; 30% Depression; 35% Substance use.disorder and up to 75% experience Divorce.

With all these facts and figures, only 90% of departments have less than $8,500 budgeted for mental wellness training!

Status Code 4, Inc. was formed to provide trauma healing counseling and mental wellness educational services to First Responders and their family members.

First Responders are civilian and military members who perform law enforcement, fire fighter, emergency medical, dispatch and other emergency services.

CSLE aims to raise awareness for this outstanding organization and its valuable support for our community’s First Responders. We invite you to join us at our fundraising events throughout the year—whether by participating, donating,
or volunteering—to help provide much-needed hope and funding for those who require it most in our community.

THANKS ARE IN ORDER! 👏👏👏
Thank you to ALL those who attended our Candy Cane Craft & Gift Show in December. Thanks to You, we were able to donate $5,025 to Harley's Hope Foundation!

I would like to thank Cynthia and all her staff at Harley's Hope Foundation. Though Cynthia has now retired, Harley's Hope carries on what her and her husband began 15 years ago - Keeping people and their pets together during difficult situations. Please keep Harley's Hope in mind when you think of giving. They are a small non-profit in Colorado Springs, that deserves to continue their amazing work for many more years to come!
