Celebrating Service, Generosity & Community Impact!

At our Friday, October 9th meeting, the Rotary Club of Colorado Springs celebrated the success of the 19th Annual Wings of Change Gala & Auction, which raised approximately $70,000 to support community programs and projects!

A heartfelt thank-you to all our sponsors, artists, Rotarians, and community members who made this incredible event possible. Your generosity helps Rotary continue making a difference in the lives of others.

We also heard from longtime Rotarians Curt Ormond (55 years of service!) and Dick Harwood (46 years of service!), who shared why Rotary is so meaningful to them and reflected on the impact of Rotary's work in communities across the United States and around the world.

We also recognized Ron Rubin, a Paul Harris Fellow Level +3 recipient, for his generosity and commitment to Rotary's mission.

Building Community Through Creative Projects!

Join the Rotary Club of Colorado Springs on Friday, October 9, as we welcome Thomas Pantoja of Concrete Couch for an inspiring presentation on how creativity, collaboration, and community partnerships can transform lives and neighborhoods.

Discover how Concrete Couch turned an abandoned concrete dump and former homeless encampment into Concrete Coyote Community Park—a vibrant gathering place for youth programs, festivals, workshops, cultural events, and community connections.

Thomas will also share the story behind the Sam Dunlap Wall of Inspiration, a community-built mosaic celebrating Colorado Springs’ unsung heroes. This meaningful project was made possible in part through a grant from the Rotary Club of Colorado Springs!

Come learn how creative projects can beautify our city, foster belonging, teach valuable skills, and bring people together to create lasting change.

From Acacia Park to Wings of Change: Good Things Happen When We Come Together!

This summer, downtown Colorado Springs showed what’s possible when community, music, and local businesses come together. More than 12,000 people attended the Acacia Park Summer Concert Series, with downtown foot traffic increasing 57% on concert nights compared to last year!

For the Rotary Club of Colorado Springs, these numbers represent something even bigger: a community reconnecting, supporting local businesses, and enjoying the places that make our city special.

The success of the concert series reinforces Rotary’s vision to revitalize the historic 1914 Acacia Park Bandshell into a modern, accessible amphitheater for concerts and community gatherings throughout the year. With strong community and business support, that vision is taking flight!

On Saturday, October 3, we’ll celebrate another kind of transformation at our 19th Annual Wings of Change Celebration & Auction at Hotel Polaris. Local artists have once again turned butterflies, dragonflies, and this year’s new hummingbirds into extraordinary works of art.

Join us for an evening of dinner, art, live and silent auctions, and community philanthropy as we celebrate the people and partnerships making a difference in Colorado Springs.

Meghan will guide guests through an unforgettable evening celebrating local artists, community connections, and the impact of Wings of Change.

The Celebration comes at the end of an especially visible summer for the Rotary Club of Colorado Springs.

Rotary has been working alongside community and downtown partners to advance the restoration of the historic 1914 Acacia Park Bandshell. This summer's Downtown Summer Concert Series brought more than 12,000 people to Acacia Park. Downtown Partnership data reported a 57% increase in foot traffic on concert nights compared with the same period last year.
