In addition to having several hundred dahlia plants in my backyard, down the street from my home, I have dozens of dahlias planted at Bear Creek Community Garden. I planted these tubers in mid May and I’m pleased they came up a few weeks early. Found so many bees sleeping in the blooms this morning!

So proud Dave and I were able to donate an entire wagon full of fresh lettuce and chard to Silver Key Senior Services this week! One of the special advantages of gardening at BCGA is being part of their food donation programs. Every Saturday there is a pickup for Silver Key who has one of the largest food banks in the state; every Thursday is a food donation pick up from the
