Casa Verde Commons is Colorado Springs' first cohousing community. Cohousing is an intentional, sustainable, neighborhood that was conceived in Denmark almost forty years ago and has since spread throughout the world. There are currently over 100 completed cohousing communities in North America and more than 100 in various stages of planning or construction. Nearly twenty cohousing communities cur

rently exist or are being built in Colorado. Main Features of Cohousing Communities:
-Developed, owned, and managed by the residents.
-Individual homes are clustered around common facilities designed for community activities, work, play and child care.
-Designed to engender a small-town, extended-family atmosphere and neighborhood solidarity.
-Multi-generational, mixed income families and singles.
-Sustainable use of resources such as community gardens, workshops, recreational areas. Casa Verde Commons is located in an older neighborhood just north of downtown, close to Colorado College and the heart of downtown. A coffee shop and Shook's Run Trail border the western edge of the community, and we're within easy walking distance of a public golf course, public schools, parks, a major hospital, and shopping.

Are you curious to learn more about Casa Verde Commons, the cohousing community in the Patty Jewett neighborhood?

Come visit on May 2 between 1 and 3 PM when Casa Verde will
participate in the nationwide Cohousing Open House event.

Tour Sample units and the Casa Verde grounds and learn more about cohousing, a collaborative neighborhood designed to support an active and interdependent community life.

Refreshments and a playground for the kids will be available.
