: when was offered a spontaneous trip to Canada
She was told it had to be on her own, no one to share meals with or explore a new place with. But she said yes anyway.

She researched the New York Time Spots to visit and then she booked herself a flight on one of the three reamaining in Canada.

She booked a tour of parliament and while she learned of their politics she also learned that the roof under construction was 200 year old copper being replaced by the company where her dad works.

She said Even though the journey was unknown and alone and instead discovered new heights and her roots.



Some sparks give us the power to go around the world, some the power to talk to the stranger next to us. The power of the spark is seeing it, not refusing it, and then using the heck out of it.

Today is my 28th birthday. This past year has been full of challenges. One of the hardest was the weeks in September when I could not walk a single step. My health was in shambles and an injury made it impossible to move around without a cane. *
So I set a goal to walk 28,000 steps on my birthday.
You better believe I did it.

I’m more than 40 pounds lighter and I am stronger physically, emotionally and mentally. I am going to crush this year. *

: A purpose doesn’t have to be large, sometimes start small and see how things build. Here is a story from Spark follower *

I had just moved into my new home, and had decided to attend the board meeting to get to know my neighbors. During the meeting I mentioned I would like to build a loft in my second room- to create a place for others to sleep. *
*
After the meeting a new neighbor mentioned he had taken a loft out of a condo similar to mine and still had the beams. He brought them over and with the help of some friends we were able to take my new space from a house to a home- a place where I can host friends and family no matter the number of guests.*
*
I put it out there to people to let them know what I was hoping to do, and people showed up to help. It still took the work and knowledge to motivate and install the loft, but the gesture from my neighbor sparked me to get it done and not sit around and wait. — Chad Yates

Sometimes our purpose is huge like climbing a peak or hitching it across America. But those larger events grow from building small purpose moments throughout your life. *

Steve Jobs was almost bankrupt before he became the CEO of Apple. Mary Kay Ash founded her company after being passed over for promotions to unqualified men. Tylenol became the most trusted pain medicine only after the worst case scenario of their capsules being laced with cyanide.

In moments of hardship, failure and pain we have a hole in us that our truest light can pore through- but only if we move the dark clouds of our fear to the side.*

Sparking the next generation—the Spark Purpose team took a group Colorado College students for a raft trip down the Colorado River.. they learned about the great outdoors and how to handle a current. Steve expanded his lexicon -learning that ”dank” means delicious.

Spark Purpose inspires people to work toward their purpose- like here where Steve bribed them with dank food to get them to paddle.
