Buckhorn Camp (Combined Youth Camp Week) with Central UMC and Sunrise UMC.

Join us for a week of overnight summer camp, full of faith and fun! Buckhorn is a United Methodist camp in Bellvue, Colorado, with programs for grades 3-10. Sunrise and Central UMC will be sending kids, as well as at least one adult volunteer (Corina Hurst) for Session 2, June 22-27.

If you need financial assistance, apply for Scholarships on Buckhorn's website under the FAQ section at buckhorncamp.org/summercamp. Let Beth or Corina know if additional scholarship help will be needed beyond what Buckhorn can provide - don't let cost be a reason not to send your kids.

Additionally, if you are a congregant who would like to donate any amount to help send kids to summer camp, contact [email protected]!

Spring has sprung, and the season of newborn wildlife has begun. Which means we're about to start seeing a lot more young wildlife, and brings us to some of our favorite reminders for the season.

Picking up, feeding or disturbing newborn critters is just a bad idea, plain and simple. It’s bad for their health, safety and survival, and it’s risky for people too.

Stepping in when you find an animal is more harmful than helpful. Here’s some tips for being safe and responsible this spring:

- Don’t handle or pick up the animal, transferring our scent to the newborn could cause the mother to abandon their young.
- Human food is not animal food. Young wildlife does not need help getting their next meal, especially with food that comes from us – it can make them sick or severely ill.
- Wild animals are just that – wild – so if you find one, enjoy a quick glance and then give it plenty of space, observe from a distance without pressuring the young or mother.
