One of the most strategic moments of the trip was gathering 16 pastors and ministry leaders from across Albania for a luncheon. Some have been serving families impacted by disability for years; for others, it was their first exposure to this ministry.

Pastor Norbert (my former college roommate) shared that his next step is to begin visiting these families in their homes – to listen, to pray, and to find ways to connect them with the Body of Christ.

This is why Bridge to Hope exists: to equip leaders and churches and to connect people and resources across borders, empowering them to reach families impacted by disabilities.

We’re thrilled to share the next step in our vision to bring hope to families with disabilities across Albania.

Last month, a fully accessible playground was shipped from Chicago to Kisha Ungjillore Bilisht in southern Albania! 🎉

This church recently opened its doors to 30 children with disabilities as part of their mission to serve families and share Christ’s love. The playground, on land shared with a local elementary school, will be a place where kids of all abilities can play, parents can connect, and the church can build meaningful relationships.

Through our partnership with , we secured this inclusive playground to give families a space for joy, rest, and community. It’s a tangible step toward our vision: equipping churches across Albania to become beacons of hope.

Dedicated Mom, Florije, proudly shows off the craft she made for her daughter, Yllka. 💜

For 22 years, Yllka’s world was limited to the walls of her home, until last fall, when a container of wheelchairs from Bridge to Hope arrived at our partners . That gift of mobility opened the door to something even bigger: belonging.

At Flow Summer Camp, Yllka didn’t sit on the sidelines. She joined her team for the day’s grand finale, water gun fights, and to everyone’s surprise, burst into laughter as the spray drenched her.
Her joy was contagious. Her laughter, unforgettable. A reminder of why inclusion changes everything.

Other families got to partake in similar experiences of belonging this summer, participating in everything from arts and crafts to group games.

We’re so grateful to walk alongside Jonathan Center as they empower children with disabilities and their families in Albania. Their recent summer camp, “Mrekulli në Mes të Verës,” was a beautiful example of acceptance, community, joy, and transformation.

We’re so glad you’re here.

Bridge to Hope is a ministry dedicated to walking alongside families of children with disabilities—bringing hope, dignity, and the love of Christ to families who are often left to face disability alone.

We believe every child is created in the image of God and worthy of love, belonging, and opportunity. And we believe no parent should walk this road alone.

Bridge to Hope was born out of a burden for families in Albania who are raising children with disabilities—many of whom feel forgotten, isolated, and overwhelmed.

We believe the local church is uniquely positioned to respond with compassion and action. That’s why we partner directly with churches and ministries in Albania, equipping them to become places of welcome, healing, and practical support for these families.
