Medicine Wheel Trail Advocates We are mountain bikers who build, share and protect inspiring trail experiences in the Pikes Peak region. Est. 1991 How do we do that?

Advocacy

We keep in touch with the local land management agencies, like the US Forest Service, Colorado State Parks, the Colorado Springs Parks Department, and the El Paso County Parks Department. By maintaining good communication with the agencies which control our parks & forests, we help them avoid problems with mountain cyclists before they happen. Trail Maintenance

We help to main

tain trails for city, state and federal agencies in the Pikes Peak region, along with other volunteer groups throughout the area. Some of the areas we have helped maintain include Palmer Park, Ute Valley Park, Garden of the Gods Park, Cheyenne Mountain State Park, and trails throughout Pike National Forest. Trail Building

With today's limited budgets, land management agencies are finding it harder and harder to build new trails for their users. Medicine Wheel steps in to help build trails that benefit all trail users and not just mountain bikers. Education & Outreach

We educate riders about being courteous to other trail users and about proper riding techniques and trail useage.

Good trails. Good beer. Good people.

Grateful to Goat Patch Brewing for supporting MedWheel and naming us as a partner this year.

Next time you stop in, order the red ale to receive a token—then drop it in for MedWheel. Every one helps support the Colorado Springs trails we all rely on.

Support local trails. Support local beer.

We’re excited to join our friends at Colorado Springs for their Member Days Store Party on Saturday, March 14 (11am–3pm).

Stop by to connect with local outdoor organizations, talk trails, and learn more about the work happening across our region. It’s a great chance to meet fellow trail stewards, explore new gear, and celebrate the outdoor community that makes the Pikes Peak Region such a special place to ride and roam.

Check the poster for event details and giveaways.

This event is open to all, with a little extra love for REI Co-op members. We’d love to see you there.

Have you picked up a shovel with MedWheel or another trail group in the past year? The City of Colorado Springs is asking for your feedback, and this is an important moment for our trail community.

This short volunteer survey helps City staff understand that trained, dedicated volunteers are ready to do more. It’s a chance to share your support for trail work coordinated by MedWheel and our partners, and to encourage the City to empower established volunteer organizations to lead trail maintenance on City property.

When volunteers are trusted and supported, we can respond faster to trail needs, reduce maintenance backlogs, and care for the places that restore us.

🗓️ Survey closes January 30
