On this 75th National Day of Prayer, it was an honor to share a prayer for the Arts and Entertainment sector of our Pikes Peak region at the Marketplace with a Purpose luncheon. Surrounded by business professionals and church, government, and community leaders, I was humbled to intercede on behalf of a cultural sector that has great impact in the hearts and passions of our community though is often unconsidered. I share that prayer here as we continue to pray for God to bring His kingdom to earth through our dancing feet, paint splotched clothes, and hands dirty from sowing in the margins of society through Jubilee Arts Collective.
Dear Creator God,
You crafted every precious human in your divine image and created this amazing world full of truth, beauty, and goodness. You paint the skies every morning and evening in a magnificent production inspiring us with your fresh mercy and compassion. May we never lose the wonder of who you are and your glory shining through it all. You have made us to create and consume beauty and to grow goodness from your truth. In the Pikes Peak region, turn our appetite to you and to the glory of your name in the Arts and Entertainment sector.
Raise up Kingdom creatives that join you on mission to bring restoration and wholeness to the weary world around us. Turn the gaze of artists to seek your face, to seek your Kingdom first. Provide for the Christian artists in our region for their physical needs, spiritual maturity, emotional stability, and relational strength. Make space for the platform of influence you want them to have, whether it be broad or narrow- let it be deep, rooted and grounded in your love, rested in humility, and empowered by your Spirit to boldly infuse the Arts with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
I pray for the upcoming generation saying yes to life with you, raise them up as culture creators. Guide them with your spirit of wisdom and revelation, protect them from the taunts of the enemy, and move through them and their artistic voice to bring revival in their generation.
Gracious God we ask you to nurture the seeds planted by Kingdom creatives, that through them, you Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring up before all the nations.
Your name and your renown are the desire of our hearts, Lord. May YOU be proclaimed through our lives and our art. May All we create and shape in this culture be from you, through you, and for you. To you be the glory. In Jesus powerful name I pray, Amen.
