Ranch Community Garden Growing Community through gardening together. Ranch Community Garden has been created for the purpose of Growing Community!

We especially encourage those without garden space to come reserve a garden plot with us, but garden plots are available to all. We are an organic community garden encouraging active community participation and organic sustainable food production.

Even though we had more fresh snow this week, a great group of KU engineering students volunteered in the garden on Saturday. They worked on our compost bins, Food Bank plot prep, and scrap wood cleanup. Thanks for all your help in the 3" of snow! Safe travels back to Kansas.

This application is for a 4ft x 8ft (32sqft) garden plot at Ranch Community Garden. The annual garden fee is $25 for each plot that you rent. Check Yes to the 2nd Plot question if you wish to apply for 2 garden plots. You will receive a notice via email that your garden application has been accepted...

We are busy in the garden this spring getting ready for our planting season and hoping the snows have finally finished. A number of volunteers have helped us clean out unused beds so that we can offer them to new gardeners. We also have our Food Bank plots well underway in readiness for warm weather. Thanks to all our volunteers who dug out some very onerous roots!

We had a wonderful group of garden volunteers this weekend to help finish our rabbit-proof fencing. Our garden perimeter is now wrapped in anti-bunny chicken wire. We will finish the gates in February to seal off those areas. Thanks to everyone for helping out!

The garden board met this week to start installation of our rabbit-proof fence around the garden. We hope that this will solve our largest furry issue this year. We are hosting a volunteer work party on January 30th from 1:00pm - 3:00 to put up more fencing. Please join us for an hour or two. Bring work gloves, shovels, garden rakes if you have them.
