For over 20 years, Cool Science has excited, inspired and engaged students, teachers and parents throughout central and southern Colorado with the wonders of science in the world around us. Cool Science’s passionate volunteers provide a variety of fun, engaging and intimidation-free science demonstrations and hands-on activities in schools, libraries and other public venues. Activities and events

include:

- Demonstration shows
- Hands-on activities and workshops
- The Day of Science and Super Day of Science
- Science/STEM Nights
- Parent/Teacher Training Workshops
- Colorado Springs Cool Science Festival


The Colorado Springs Cool Science Festival will continue to focus on:
- Engaging kids in fun, science-based activities
- Providing opportunities for participants to interact with STEM professionals
- Providing activities and programs FREE of charge
- Attracting underserved and economically challenged families
- Providing kids & parents access to the campus of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS)
- Delivering science events and activities geared to adults as well as children

Additionally, Cool Science will also continue delivering the adults-only Science on Tap program each month at Jack Quinn’s Irish Ale House & Pub.

Kick off with cosmic Storytime: Listen to "Racoon on the Moon"🦝 read by the Space Foundation, then craft your very own alien raccoon masks! (ages 2-5) 👽

Swing by Pikes Peak East Library later today to create awesome art! 🎨

Then, trek to Garden of the Gods for a dino discovery and learn all about a rare dinosaur found ONLY in this spot! 🦕🌄

At 10am, experience a special behind-the-scenes guided tour at Pikes Peak Summit Visitor Center including staff-only zones! 🏔️

Then gear up from 5pm-7pm at Pikes Peak Library 21c: Play with hands-on electric and electronic engineering devices such as gyroscopes, electromagnets, and more!

Or leisurely enjoy a Science on Tap presentation from 6:30pm-8pm at Jack Quinn’s Irish Pub and Restaurant, where Geology professor Christine Siddoway will unveil what she knows about Tava sandstone! 🌍❄️

From 10 – 11:30am, learn ancient plant-growing wisdom with Pikes Peak Permaculture! Get hands-on crafting seed bundles packed with soil, clay, and native wildflower seeds - take them home or plant them around the community! 🌱

Then, kicking off at 5:30pm, Team up with the Mile High Bug Club for an epic Tarantula Hunt through Cheyenne Mountain State Park! See if you can spot them in their natural habitat (ages 10+ only)! 🕷️
