House Bill HB26-1009 – Colorado Mandatory Lethality Assessment Act would require law enforcement responding to domestic violence incidents to conduct a lethality assessment to help identify survivors at highest risk of serious harm or homicide, while also connecting victims to advocacy resources and support services.

This matters because domestic violence is not just an argument. It can escalate quickly, and early intervention saves lives.

We support policies that prioritize survivor safety, accountability, and real prevention. Every victim deserves to be seen, heard, and protected.

At Kingdom Builder’s Family Life Center (KBFLC), we are committed to creating safe, supportive spaces for individuals and families impacted by domestic violence, sexual violence, and life’s toughest challenges, especially within underserved and BIPOC communities.

We are honored to welcome Toi Washington-Reynolds as the Keynote Speaker for our upcoming EmpowerHer Sexual Violence Conference.

Toi Washington-Reynolds is the Founder and Director of the Trans Women of Color (TWOC) Healing Project, established in Birmingham, Alabama in 2019 and later relocated to Georgia in 2020. The TWOC Healing Project is dedicated to speaking knowledge to power, combating the erasure of trans lives and narratives, and uplifting the invaluable contributions of trans women of color within society.

Through this work, Toi is committed to raising awareness and fostering visibility for trans women of color, their families, communities, and movementsensuring their stories remain an integral part of the greater tapestry of humanity. Based in Newnan, Georgia, the organization serves multiple communities across rural Georgia, including Coweta County, South Fulton, Troup County, and Muscogee County.

Her leadership, advocacy, and commitment to equity continue to create meaningful and lasting impact and we are honored to have her share her voice with us.
