Cooking up more than a recipe today in Colorado Springs. 🍳 Our OT program pairs the people we serve with OT students for hands-on skills. Medicaid doesn't cover services like this, so it only exists because of donor support. A win-win for everyone! Our location is one of the lucky few that is able to offer this to the people we support 💛💙

A legal opinion recently issued by the Department of Justice is threatening a landmark Supreme Court ruling that ensures people with disabilities can live at home and in their communities rather than in institutions.

Please help us protect this important fundamental right by contacting your members of Congress and asking them to oppose any cuts to Medicaid for Home- and Community-Based Services.

According to a report from the State of the States in Developmental Disabilities, about 72% of adults with IDD live with a family caregiver, and 24% of those caregivers are over the age of 60.

As the caregiver’s own needs increase, it’s critical to make plans for the individual in their care. Lakelyn Eichenberger, a gerontologist, caregiving advocate and member of Mosaic’s Board of Directors, offers three questions to start the conversation.

Still in the mood to celebrate independence? So are we!!! 🎉

She just got the keys to her first solo apartment! She had lived with family for her entire life, and she was clear about her goal: independent living, on her terms. We listened. She did the rest (with the help of great friends of course!).

On July 1, 2003, Mosaic was formed by the consolidation of Bethphage and Martin Luther Homes. One Mosaic Day is celebrated annually on this day as a tribute to our history and a celebration of our network’s collective efforts to empower people to live full lives.
