Thanks to everyone who came out on Saturday the 6th for our June workday!

We were able to get a few bags of trash and dog waste picked up, but the volunteers had to work for it as they were seeing a relatively limited amount of both in the park. This is great to hear that the public has been doing well picking up after themselves and their best friends. Shout out to the public on this one!

And thanks to the members of the Manitou Coronado Palmer Middle School and High School Mountain Bike Team for coming out and helping us close down a rogue trail leading from the Yucca Area to Templeton Trail.

It was a hot day, but a lot of fun was had and a lot of good was accomplished. Keep an eye out for the posting for our July workday, which will be on the 11th in order to avoid the Fourth of July weekend.

Saturday is forecasted to be a beautiful day! What better way to enjoy the weather than being outside in the greatest park in the land while doing some good?!

Still time to signup to volunteer with us this Saturday to keep the park looking wonderful.

Come one come all to our next first Saturday workday! We will be hosting two of our volunteer activities on June 6, 2026 in the park: trash cleanup and dog waste cleanup. Use the below links to signup to come help beautify our wonderful oasis in the middle of the city. Every volunteer makes a tremendous difference in the quality of the park.

Come join us tomorrow in helping beautify the park!

The notice is a bit late, but we will be hosting our first Saturday workday this Saturday, May 2, 2026. We will be doing two activities: Dog waste cleanup and trash cleanup.

We had a great turnout last Saturday for the annual 3 Days 3 Parks event and want to thank all 19 volunteers who came out and helped close down some rogue trails around Yucca Flats! Thank you all for your time in helping keep Palmer Park the wonderful place that it is.

The Guardians of Palmer Park would like to give a HUGE shoutout to the —The Colorado Springs Police Department, —the Fire Department and our Park Ranger—Nate. If it were not for the incredibly fast teamwork of these people, we would have been left with an enormous disaster. We can not thank you enough. THANK YOU 🙏 ❣️We are eternally grateful.

It's that time of year again, our Earth Day celebration annual 3 Days 3 Parks event where we team up with Friends of Ute Valley and Friends of Peregrine for three days of work in all three of our great parks.

We will be at Blodgett Open Space with Friends of Peregrine on Friday April 24th to help with dog waste and trash cleanup, noxious w**d removal, and corridor clearing along the trail network. Work starts at 8:00 am and goes to 11:00 am.

We will be at Palmer Park on Saturday April 25th to do some rogue trail closures on Yucca Flats that will include scarifying, seeding, and reclaiming areas impacted by short-cutting and off-trail use. Work starts at 9:00 am and goes to 12:30 pm.

We will be at Ute Valley Park to wrap things up on Sunday April 26th to help with trash pickup, noxious w**d removal, and restoration of social trails and impacted areas in Vindicator Meadow. Work starts at 9:00 am and goes to 12:00 pm.

Signup for one, two, or all three days. The more people we get at each park, the more good we can do! As always, please prepare and dress for the weather and activity. This includes wearing long pants, wearing closed-toed shoes, having work gloves, and bringing water.
