Radiant Blue Marble Film fest on Aug 29th at The Ent Center for the Arts.
Presented in collaboration with the UCCS Galleries of Contemporary Art (GOCA), Independent Film Society of Colorado, Rocky Mountain Women’s Film, and Youth Documentary Academy, and supported by the University of Colorado Boulder’s NEST Studio for the Arts (Nature, Environment, Science, & Technology), Radiant Blue Marble sparks conversation, creativity, and connection across generations.

Unique Environments: Three Short Films
As Colorado marks 150 years of statehood, we turn our attention to the places that shape us — and the places we shape in return. In celebration of this milestone, we present three short films unified by a single theme: Environment.
Each film is anchored in a distinct setting, and together they carry us across three very different worlds: a Colorado marathon where one man tests the limits of his own endurance, an endless desert where another searches for meaning in the silence, and a handcrafted universe where the only border is imagination itself.
We're honored to bring this program to the Ent Center for the Arts as part of the statewide Colorado 150 celebration, and we're grateful you've joined us for an evening of storytelling rooted in the world around us.

To Take a Big Swing (RT: 7:32)
Directed by Brian Lewis
An endurance documentary following Josh Rogerson as he takes on his first marathon — pushing past comfort, trusting his training, and learning what it really means to bet on yourself.
About the Filmmaker: Brian is a Colorado Springs–based filmmaker at SolMtn Studios. "We pride ourselves on telling human-driven visual stories that evoke genuine emotional responses; stories that inspire and motivate and make the world a better place; stories with a soul."

Directed by Andrew Holzschuh
A stranded soul searches an endless desert for his purpose.
About the Filmmaker: Andrew is a Colorado Springs–based filmmaker. The film opens with the line: "Man is a vessel made from stardust, carrying the soul from one side of eternity to the other." Andrew encourages viewers to sit with those words as they watch. The story carries its own personal meaning for him, and he looks forward to hearing what others take away from it.

Solar Neighbor (RT: 10:44)
Directed by Austin Cole
A handmade claymation film following a terminally ill human placed into cryogenic sleep. While the human drifts in stasis, their home planet changes completely. (This film is entirely handmade — no AI was used in its creation.)
About the Filmmaker: Austin Cole is a Colorado-based filmmaker and multidisciplinary visual artist working across stop-motion, sculpture, embroidery, painting, and handmade world-building. Drawn to tactile processes and practical effects, Austin's work embraces creativity, imperfection, and the intimacy of handcrafted detail — blending whimsical visual language with grounded emotional themes that explore connection, care, and the quiet weight of being alive.

Radiant Blue Marble is a film festival that features five blocks of
short films from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, followed by a 7:00 pm screening of Dr.
Strangelove.

You can access the entire day of programming for $20 when you add tickets to Radiant Blue Marble and Dr. Strangelove to your cart at the same time.
