Your support is paramount to continuing our mission to see our nation's working dog heroes be always honored, respected and cared for in their retirement after a lifetime of service protecting our troops, civilians and interests both domestically and abroad. The Memorial a place where individuals will learn about our nation’s War Dogs and be a place of reflection for those whose lives were saved by these amazing hero dogs. Because of their selfless devotion and loyalty, many husbands, wives, sons and daughters have returned home to their families. These noble warriors work tirelessly in scorching heat, freezing cold, blinding sand and torrential rain without complaint. They sustain injuries, risk their own lives and have died protecting our troops, civilians and freedoms. We built this Memorial to give these heroes with fur the honor and respect they have earned and deserve. For generations to come this memorial will stand to honor our nation's working dog heroes. Honoring the 25 Marine Military Working Dogs who were Killed In Action during the Liberation of Guam, mostly between July 21 and August 10, 1944. Including Kurt, who fell on July 25, 1944

The Always Faithful Memorial Honors the 25 USMC Military Working Dogs who Fell during the Liberation of Guam. Sculpted by Susan Bahary, it features Kurt and is permanently installed at the U.S. Marine Corps War Dog Cemetery on the Naval Base at Guam. In addition, castings of Always Faithful can also be found at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, Auburn, Alabama.; the University of Tennessee’s College of Veterinary Medicine in Knoxville, Tennessee; The Alfred M. Gray Marine Corps Research Center in Quantico, Virginia; and The American Kennel Club Museum of the Dog in St Louis, Missouri.

Honoring Marine Handler - Sergeant Christopher Matthew Wrinkle, February 13, 1982 - July 31, 2011, and MWD Tosca MPC, Unknown - July 31, 2011, Both Died in Afghanistan, OEF

A fire broke out in the Herat province, Afghanistan barracks where Wrinkle and Tosca were housed while on deployment. Having initially escaped the fire, Wrinkle then called out for Tosca. When Tosca answered, Wrinkle disappeared back into the fire in a search of his partner. Both Wrinkle and Tosca perished in the blaze, along with two other Marines, Patrick Dolphin and Dennis Kancler.
