YWAM Emerge started in 2004 with a dream to send people into the world to be the hands and feet of Jesus. calling young people and all ages to experience God in a new way by following the call of God on their lives through a commitment to full-time missions. In 2009 we knew our purpose was changing to reaching the nations in a more tangible way. With a request from the founder of YWAM to serve the

poor through the development of improving how food is grown, we built our first aquaponics system on a property we acquired in Colorado Springs. While our first property was a great start, we were able to purchase a 41-acre property in 2018 to accomplish the big vision to train and mobilize people equipped with business knowledge to reach the nations. A 22,000 square foot greenhouse allows for plenty of training and equipping to help fulfill God's plan for our ministry. We've built a commercial aquaponics system to demonstrate that the technology can work on a large scale and now have a prototype system that can be replicated worldwide. We also provide ongoing training for students wanting to learn how this can benefit the world.

Weeping with you ywam LA

The March 16th afternoon (Los Angeles time) our dear Ylva went to be with the Lord.

Ylva has been part of the fabric of YWAM LA for decades. She didn’t just serve here, she helped build this place: both physically and spiritually. Her strength, faithfulness, and deep love for God and people have left a lasting mark on our community. Quite simply, YWAM LA would not be what it is today without her.

She was a worshiper, a teacher of the Word, a faithful friend, and a woman of deep conviction and quiet strength. She lived a life fully given to Jesus.

We feel the weight of this loss deeply. She will be profoundly missed.

At the same time, we rejoice that Ylva is now whole, in the presence of the One she loved and served so faithfully.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.”

We love you, Ylva. Thank you for the gift of your life. You will always be part of this family.
