Please join us in welcoming Mundi Ross, our new Development Director at Homeward Pikes Peak!

Mundi brings a unique and relationship-driven background to HPP, with experience in marketing, events, and small business ownership. Her nontraditional path has given her a strong foundation in building authentic relationships, connecting with the community, and bringing people together around a shared purpose.

Mundi says, “I am thrilled to join Homeward Pikes Peak and have the opportunity to dig my heels in and support the mission of HPP. I love this community and am excited to build relationships that help further the incredible work happening here.”

Outside of work, Mundi loves watching her son play competitive basketball—he’s a sixth grader. Her husband, Casey Ross, was a founding member of Axe and the Oak Distillery, an adventure she describes as “13 wild years,” and she remains his biggest fan.

We’re excited to have Mundi on the HPP team and look forward to the energy, relationships, and community connections she’ll bring to our development work!

Behind every number is a person. Behind every person is a story. And behind every path home are people who keep showing up.

At Homeward Pikes Peak, our teams walk alongside individuals and families facing homelessness, housing instability, recovery, mental health challenges, and crisis.

That can mean building trust, helping someone navigate housing, connecting them to care, or simply making sure they do not face a hard moment alone.

The reality is bigger than any single count and so is the weight carried by the people doing this work every day.

Trauma exposure. Compassion fatigue. High caseloads. Limited resources. Stories that stay with you.

Our teams cannot always fix every crisis.

But they can make sure someone doesn’t face it alone.

This work is essential, and the people doing it need a community behind them. 💚

Sometimes the best way to explain the work of Homeward Pikes Peak is through the people who are doing it every day.

Today, we’re sharing a story written by Rob Decker, a member of our Street Outreach team, after a day he won’t soon forget.

In Rob’s own words:

“I’ve been working with a gentleman for months to help him get into housing.

This man has been without a place to call home for a long time. He’s older, he has his struggles, and he’s over there using oxygen just trying to navigate life.

Today, he got the keys to his own apartment.

And the smile on his face when he received those keys… man.

He told someone we’re working with that he felt so good and that he could just kiss me for never giving up on him and continuing to help him.

Now, nobody was getting kissed. 😂 That’s not what we do.

But I knew exactly what he meant.

He was grateful.

And so was I.

Because if people really understood what it takes to help someone get off the streets and into housing, they’d understand that it isn’t always smooth sailing.

There are hurdles. There are hiccups. There are delays. There are multiple people and agencies trying to put all the pieces together, and sometimes a few balls get dropped along the way.

But you keep going.

People need to know they matter.

They need someone willing to see them beyond their circumstances.

Someone willing to listen.

Someone willing to help them take the next step.

Someone willing to stay when things get complicated.

Sometimes the greatest thing we can give another human being isn’t money, a resource, a program, or even an answer.

People matter. Their stories matter. And sometimes, all someone needs is a hand up and somebody who refuses to walk away.
