For the past 5 years, Nancy Stromer has been a familiar and welcoming face at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern Colorado. After retiring from careers in education and Human Resources, Nancy was looking for a meaningful way to stay involved in her community and found exactly that at RMHC.
Drawn to our mission of supporting families with children facing serious medical challenges, Nancy quickly became an important part of our volunteer family. Most often, you'll find her at the Reception Desk, greeting families, answering questions, and helping create a warm, welcoming environment.
When asked what she enjoys most about volunteering, Nancy's answer is simple: the people. She treasures the relationships she's built with families, staff, and fellow volunteers throughout the years.
Outside the House, Nancy enjoys
๐ singing barbershop harmony with the Velvet Hills chorus
๐ reading mystery novels
๐น playing piano
โ๏ธ traveling
๐ taking walks and working out at the gym
A proud mother of 2 and grandmother of 5, she cherishes every opportunity to spend time with her family.
When asked to describe herself in one word, Nancy's husband chose "reliable." Her personal philosophy is one that has guided her throughout life: "Think positively, try hard, and get involved with others. Have faith."
Nancy, thank you for sharing your time, kindness, and dedication with our families. We are grateful for all you do! ๐๐โค๏ธ
