Black Rose Acoustic Society

Black Rose Acoustic Society Hosts open stages and concerts in Black Forest, as well as concerts, jams and lessons in the Colorado Springs area. Kids are welcome.

The Black Rose Acoustic Society is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the education, performance, enjoyment and preservation of all types of traditional acoustic music in the Black Forest and Colorado Springs, CO, areas. Not-for-profit organization founded by local musicians to foster traditional acoustic music and to provide a supportive audience for acoustic musicians at all levels.

Acoustic music lovers gather to hear great music at Black Rose Acoustic Society's open stages, held in the log cabin-style Black Forest Community Center, which was built in 1929 among the tall Colorado pines. Outstanding national and regional musicians regularly grace the stage, and they rave about the Black Rose Acoustic Society audience. Performers often experience the famous Black Rose Stomp, during which the rafters and floors shake with a rousing, sustained stomp of approval. See videos here: https://www.youtube.com/user/BlackRoseAcoustic

Six-week group lessons for guitar, fiddle, bass, mandolin, banjo, songwriting and more are offered throughout the year; check www.blackroseacoustic.org. Jams, for all player/singer levels, feature a particular focus each week, including songwriter circles, swing, fiddle, bluegrass, rockabilly, gospel and oldies singalongs. Kids get into the act at their own jams; they can bring a drum if they don't play an acoustic instrument.
