IOYS Director of Strategic Initiatives, Alie (she/they), and Direct Services & Resource Specialist, Harper (they/them), had the opportunity to attend The Colorado Trust convening, learning from and collaborating with organizations all over the state committed to food access, housing access, and mental & behavioral health. We are so grateful for the Colorado Trust, and their amazing Program Director, Angelica, for considering diverse approaches to health equity and supporting people across Colorado to do this life-saving work. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤🤎💙🤍💗

Last week, the Pikes Peak Safe at Schools Coalition partnered with the UCCS MOSAIC office to host our annual Student Panel! The panel covered not only the challenges that young people are facing in their education, but tangible and actionable ideas about the things that work for and affirm them in their education. Their ideas were delivered in responses that were heartfelt and emotional, but also funny and uplifting. It was an honor to hear from them!

Following the panel, our community dinner extended the opportunities to get to know the panelists and consider their responses as it pertains to our work on the Safe at Schools Coalition. We will look forward to building on this event at our next Safe at Schools Coalition meeting on October 26th.

Thank you again to the panelists, moderators, and the Safe at Schools volunteers who made this event possible, and we will see you in 2027! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤🤎💙🤍💗
