Pot of lentils on the grill. Dried legumes get wasted all day long en masse due to fragile packaging. Same for rice. Try to make a pot for the pigs and the sparrows whenever the biochar kiln is hot.

I intercepted 4 nutcrackers today just in time to enjoy the last of my Swiss birthday walnuts from Maya Hinrichs-Spichiger. I was eating them at the rate of one a month using my meat mallet.

Intercepted 107 lb of discarded milk from a school today. It is an everyday occurrence across America. Count the cost: methane, landfill weight, opportunity cost of feeding people, animals, composting, and all the demoralized witnesses who stand by and say ain't it a shame. I am so excited to have made this interception and to consider creatively how to put people to work around this and the other hundreds of tons of waste I process every year.
