Black Forest Community Church

Black Forest Community Church The oldest congregation in the Black Forest and the only Open & Affirming congregation in Northern El Paso County!

You are very welcome to join us on Sunday mornings at 10am in the Forest or here on Facebook Live! The Black Forest Community Church (BFCC) consists of people from Black Forest as well as many other areas, including: Colorado Springs, Monument, Falcon, Peyton, and Elbert, to name a few. We are a member of the Southeastern Association of the Rocky Mountain Conference of the United Church of Christ

(UCC), one of the mainline Protestant denominations; and made up of peoples from many different backgrounds and expressions of faith. Our worship is always scripture-based and Christ-centered. Our services are friendly towards those who are new to the church experience, as well as those who are lifetime worshipers. Holy Communion is celebrated during worship, usually on the first Sunday of each month, and anyone, regardless of membership or baptism status, is invited to participate. We offer an informal fellowship with coffee and snacks downstairs in Hardesty Hall after each service, and we invite everyone to participate. This fellowship is an excellent way to meet the other congregants, and learn more about us. For decades, we have also run First Step Preschool, a highly rated, Christian preschool with activities and programs for children and their families. We extend a warm welcome and hope you feel a part of the family of God each time you worship here.

On this Independence Day, whether you are celebrating, grieving, hoping, or feeling some complicated mix of all of it, may you spend time considering how the stories we tell about this nation impact our ability to follow the way of Jesus. Do the stories you tell invite you into right relationship with your neighbors, friends, and strangers alike? Do they draw you into deeper compassion and care? May you find the courage to speak the truth in love today. - Pastor Candace

Today we pause to grieve the loss of three firefighters who gave their lives in service to others.

As a community of faith, we pray for their families, their colleagues, and all who are carrying the weight of this tragedy. We also lift up every firefighter, EMT, paramedic, law enforcement officer, and emergency responder who continues to serve with courage each day.

May God’s peace surround all who mourn, and may we never take for granted those who answer the call to serve.

We invite you to hold a moment of silence or to keep the families and first responders in prayer throughout the week. πŸ™πŸ»πŸ•―οΈ

The Town of Palmer Lake is lighting the Palmer Lake Star Tuesday night in honor of the three firefighters who lost their lives responding to wildfires along the Colorado-Utah border.

Today, Black Forest Community Church remembers the Black Forest Fire of 2013. We honor those who were impacted, give thanks for those who responded, and recognize the resilience, courage, and community spirit that continue to define Black Forest. May we continue to support one another with the same compassion, courage, and neighborly spirit that carried Black Forest through those difficult days.❀️πŸ”₯🌲
