Happy Friday and happy DSP Week Finale! 💙 🧡

We’re wrapping up the week with a few fun gifts for our incredible DSPs: new RiseUP f***y packs, adorable animals, and inspiration cards to bring a little encouragement along on your everyday adventures.

But as DSP Week comes to a close, our appreciation certainly doesn’t.
Your commitment creates a ripple effect.

Every encouraging word. Every moment of patience. Every skill you help someone develop. Every opportunity for greater independence. Every laugh, conversation, outing, and breakthrough.

Those moments matter.

To every DSP across RiseUP: thank you for the difference you make, including the impact you may never fully get to see.
DSP Week may end today, but the gratitude continues all year long.

We RiseUP Together.

Nothing brings people together quite like a little ice cream and a lot of good company. 🍦💙

Our Denver Day Program recently enjoyed an ice cream social filled with smiles, conversation, connection, and plenty of sweet treats.

Moments like these are an important part of what community looks like at RiseUP creating space for people to relax, have fun, build friendships, and simply enjoy being together.

Because belonging is built in the everyday moments, too.
We Rise Together.

There’s more than one way to RiseUP. 💙

The Elevation Challenge isn’t only about who climbs the highest or travels the farthest. It’s also about community, creativity, storytelling, teamwork, and inspiring other people to get involved.

Our second group of banquet awards celebrates exactly that:
🏆 Top Team Fundraiser — Team raising the most money
🏆 Largest Team — Team with the most members
🏆 Best Social Media Presence — Most engaging participant content
🏆 Most Creative Climb — Most creative approach to the Challenge
🏆 Rise Together Award — Most inspiring story

And that means your next post, your next invitation, your next fundraiser, or the story behind why you’re participating could make a bigger impact than you realize.

Share what you’re doing. Tag RiseUP. Tell people why you’re moving. Invite someone into your team. Get creative with those miles and elevation.

Because this Challenge was never about everyone reaching the top the same way.

It’s about seeing how many different ways our community can rise together.

Last year’s DSP picnic was full of exactly what makes the RiseUP community so special: connection, laughter, appreciation, and a whole lot of joy. 💙

As we celebrate Direct Support Professional Recognition Week, we’re looking back at moments like these and the incredible people behind them.

Our DSPs do so much more than provide support. They build trust, encourage independence, create belonging, celebrate progress, and show up every day with heart for the individuals and families we serve.

These smiles say it all.

To our DSPs: thank you for everything you bring to RiseUP and to our community. We Rise Together.

Tomorrow morning, we’re taking the RiseUP Elevation Challenge to the Manitou Incline! 🏔️

Join us Friday, September 18, from 7:00–9:00 AM MDT for a morning of movement, connection, and some serious elevation. We’ll meet at RiseUP, 5045 List Drive in Colorado Springs, and RiseUP staff will transport hikers to the Incline and bring everyone back afterward.

Important: You’ll need to RSVP on Meetup and complete a Manitou Incline reservation before hiking. Hike leaders will be Tom Carlson and Devan Petrero.

Whether you’re working toward your 5,000 feet of elevation, adding to your Challenge progress, or simply want to get outside with the RiseUP community, we’d love to have you with us.

Come ready to climb, connect, and Rise Together. 💙🧡

Thursday Boost! ☀️

Today’s DSP Week gifts are all about something we hope our DSPs remember to give themselves too: a moment to recharge.
A stress ball for those moments when you need to let a little tension go.

Sunglasses for a brighter outlook heading into the weekend.

And a reminder from all of us at RiseUP that while you spend so much of your time supporting others, your well-being matters too.
Thank you for the patience, resilience, compassion, and positive energy you continue to bring to our community.

Take a moment today to breathe, reset, and enjoy a little extra sunshine. You’ve earned it.

One photo, so many people who make RiseUP what it is. 💙

As we continue celebrating Direct Support Professional Recognition Week, we’re looking back at last year’s DSP picnic and this incredible group of people who bring compassion, patience, encouragement, humor, and heart into our community every single day.

Our DSPs are often the people behind the everyday moments that matter most, helping someone build confidence, try something new, connect with others, work toward greater independence, or simply feel supported and seen.
That’s why making time to celebrate together matters too.

To every DSP in the RiseUP family: thank you for the energy, care, and commitment you bring to this work. We are stronger because of you.

We Rise Together.

🏔️ The RiseUP Elevation Challenge is still going strong, and there’s more than one way to reach the top.

As we make our way through September, we’re giving you a first look at some of the awards that will be presented at the RiseUP Elevation Challenge Banquet. 👀

This first round recognizes some serious movement and fundraising:
🏆 Summit Seeker — Highest individual elevation
🏆 Team Summit Seekers — Highest team elevation
🏆 The Longest Haul — Most individual distance
🏆 Team Long Haul — Most team distance
🏆 Top Fundraiser — Most money raised by an individual

So… where do you currently stand? 👀

There’s still time to log those miles, gain that elevation, share your participant page, and keep asking your community to support your challenge.

Every foot. Every mile. Every donation. It all adds up.

Keep climbing. Keep moving. Keep fundraising. We’re not done yet.

DSP Appreciation Week matters because the people doing this work deserve to feel seen.

Direct Support Professionals spend their days helping others build confidence, navigate challenges, participate in their communities, and live with greater dignity and independence.

That kind of work takes patience, compassion, consistency, and heart.

Moments like our DSP picnic give us a chance to turn the focus back toward them to say thank you, to create space for joy, and to remind our team that their work is deeply valued.

Because appreciation should never be an afterthought.

When we support our DSPs, we strengthen the entire RiseUP community.

This hike was a powerful reminder of what the RiseUP Elevation Challenge is really about: movement, connection, community, and showing up for one another.

Our own Tom Carlson hit the trail at Blodgett Peak with Jason Allred and Andrew Hartman of Baseline: Veteran Family Dynamics, one of our Elevation Challenge nonprofit partners.

Together, they covered nearly 3,000 feet of elevation in about three hours, but the impact of the morning went far beyond the climb.
Between the tough terrain came meaningful conversations about resilience, service, family, and the importance of having people beside you as you navigate challenging seasons of life.

Baseline: Veteran Family Dynamics is doing important work to strengthen veterans and their families, and we’re proud to have them participating in this year’s Challenge.

This is exactly why we created the RiseUP Elevation Challenge. It’s an opportunity to challenge yourself while raising awareness and support for organizations working to make our Colorado communities stronger.

You can still get involved:
⛰️ Take on 5,000 feet of elevation or 15 miles of distance 💙 Support RiseUP or one of our participating nonprofit partners 🤝
Join a team or encourage someone already taking the Challenge 📣 Share a participant page and help us spread the word
Join the Challenge: https://www.givesignup.org/Race/CO/ColoradoSprings/RiseUPElevationChallenge

Already participating? Keep logging those feet and miles and keep sharing your journey.

Because some of the best things happen when we RiseUP together.
