The Ascend College Prep Board of Directors will hold a Special Board Meeting on:

Ascend College Prep has been unanimously approved as a public charter school authorized by the Colorado Charter School Institute (CSI) for the 2026–2027 school year and beyond!

When the School Finance Act (SB26-023) was passed in mid-May, Ascend was given just six weeks to secure a new authorizer in order to continue operating. This was an incredibly challenging timeline that required a tremendous amount of work, but we made it happen! We are especially grateful to Academy District 20 and the Colorado Charter School Institute for working collaboratively to make sure our students would have a school to return to this fall.

I also want to thank our faculty, students, families, alumni, Board of Directors, and community supporters. Your participation in community meetings, letters of support, emails to the boards, and encouragement throughout this process made a real difference. Your incredible support for Ascend reminds us just how special our community really is.

For the second year in a row, Ascend College Prep has been awarded the John Irwin award for Academic Excellence!! To earn this distinction, a school must earn a rating of "Exceeds Expectations" on the Academic Achievement indicator of the School Performance Frameworks reflecting exceptional performance in Math, English Language Arts, and Science.

I am so proud of our outstanding faculty and students at Ascend!

We currently have 8 spots open in our junior class and 3 spots open in our senior class. Our sophomore class is full with a 2 person waitlist. If you are interested in joining us next year, please visit the website and complete the enrollment form!

I am thrilled to announce that our Aviation Pathway is growing next year! We have been awarded a CDOT "Aviation Education" Grant to fund a new, FAA Part 107 Drone Licensure program. Ideally students will take the new drone course before taking our Private Pilot ground school course, but that is not a requirement. We are also hoping to add an after school drone soccer club!
