2003 was designated by the U.S. Congress as The Year of the Blues. In light of this fact blues fans, musicians, promoters, and club owners partnered to launch a local organization that would benefit the citizens of the Pikes Peak Region by creating networks, partnerships and developing opportunities for live performance. In 2003 a free twelve week summer concert series was held at Bancroft, Acaci

a and George Fellow's parks. Paint the Town Blue continues and PPBC continues to promote live performance by musicians young and old.
