One thing we'd like to share is that we are opening a side chat in Signal for friends of COSMASU!
To join we do ask that you come to at least a few distros every few months or a few times to start. We'd love to meet more of you and think it'll be a safer and more timely way to communicate and let you know when tangible help might be needed.
If you want to be added to this side chat, in addition to coming a few times so we can meet you in person, we will also share our points of unity with you to help ensure we're in alignment in heart and action.

We critique the system, not the individual for the struggles that are imposed as a result of the 1% making decisions that leave the most vulnerable to fend for themselves.

You may have heard that with the government shutdown, SNAP benefits are running out and there will not be anything left for November. This means many people are going to be struggling to feed themselves and their friends and families.

Are you part of Colorado Springs? Can you make a donation of food or monetary donation to help us support our community this month?

Thanks for all who visited our table at Zine Fest this Saturday.

Here's what some of our people had to say:

"It was fun meeting and introducing our group to others. People were very nice. Zines are fun lol and it was cool seeing other people’s art."

"It was a super fun time, it was really nice to get to chat with so many cool, creative people. We did get to answer some people’s questions about mutual aid and harm reduction which was great. It was also super fun to sit next to Access Point since they work so closely with us.

I feel like it’s fun to do events that encourage us to be creative and share our mission through art and zines, and I’m already excited for next year!"

Next Saturday October 18, come find us at Zine Fest! We will have zines, buttons and more to share! This will be a lovely local event to get to see many creative minds. Meet people and organizations and learn what we are passionate about!

Happy Sunday, everyone! Distro this weekend went really well! We had lots of food and harm reduction supplies to share. We've also been able to supply people with pet food, toothbrushes, backpacks, clothes, sanitary suppplies and more thanks to everyone's continued support! 🌱
Please keep your eyes out for tents, coats, and backpacks. They're highly requested items year round but especially as we approach winter. 🍁❄️ Thanks!

Dear community! ��Distro has been going really well. AND we need a few more hands on deck!
You don’t need to come on a weekly basis to help the efforts!

🍏FOOD & SUPPLIES: �We could always use help cooking/making sides, even if you want us to pick it up from you beforehand. There are some things we have recipes for and you’ll get reimbursed. Or, you can offer something you know you can make a bunch of.��You can bring food at 1pm or you can also bring food closer to 2pm which is sometimes when we start running out. You can do this once, monthly, weekly, or every so often! Everything helps!

🍴DAY OF: �If you can come during a distro and help on the line, or want to learn about HR, grill, serve, or help with the clothes or the artistic space we’ve been setting up, that’s super helpful. It’s OK if you can’t stay the whole time!��You can also come during set up and clean up and just help us during those stages too. We try to show up around 12:45-1pm for set up and between 3-3:30ish for pack out.

🗒️HOMELESS UNION MEETINGS: Thursdays 3-4pm, attend and report back to the group on discussions so we can stay in the loop! springs homeless union

🥖BREAD PICK UP: Wednesday from 8-1 in the Stratmoor Hills area, requires lifting heavy bags of bread. We may need help with this every once in a while to give folks a break!

Our injectable narcan kit building event this week went great ✨ we were able to put together 1,000 kits for in 1.5 hours with a crew of ~15 folks! Remedy Alliance expands access to low-cost naloxone and we are lucky to work with them and learn from them!

Harm reduction saves lives and meets people where they are! Recently a community member told a Distro volunteer that they are seeing less used points around Dorchester Park and they’ve witnessed more people have access to clean bubbles rather than old, dirty pipes.

By putting together these kits we are able to access grant monies to continue supporting Distro and our community ❤️ thank you to everyone who came out to help!

This weekends Distro! We set up a little hangout area in the park for folks to do crafts, charge their devices, fill up their tires, and get comfy in the sun! Bring by any extra craft supplies and come hang out this Saturday 1-3!
