PROVERBS 28 — WALKING IN TRUTH 🦁

This morning I prayed and asked God for direction and clarity. I wasn’t asking Him to show me what I wanted to see. I asked Him to show me what I needed to see.

Then I read Proverbs 28.

“The righteous are as bold as a lion.”

That spoke deeply to me.

Bold doesn’t mean reckless.
It doesn’t mean arrogant.
It doesn’t mean angry.

It means being willing to speak truth when silence would be easier. To stand up for people who don’t have a voice. To confront what is wrong without becoming what I’m confronting.

Proverbs 28 also reminds us that those who conceal wrongdoing will not prosper, while those who walk in integrity will be protected.

But this is where God challenged me:

There is a difference between pursuing justice and pursuing revenge. There is a difference between righteous anger and bitterness. There is a difference between seeing something and having the wisdom to know what to do with it.

So my prayer is simple:

Verify before I accuse.
Pray before I speak.
Seek wisdom before I act.
Speak truth with grace.
Protect the vulnerable without trying to play God.
Confront wrongdoing without allowing my heart to become hardened.

I’ve seen enough in this life to know that people can manipulate systems, misuse trust, and exploit vulnerable people.

But I refuse to become cynical because I’ve witnessed corruption.
I refuse to become bitter because I’ve been hurt.
And I refuse to fight every battle simply because I see it.

My responsibility isn’t to control the outcome.

My responsibility is to remain faithful.

I will walk boldly, but humbly.
I will speak truth, but with grace.
I will pursue justice, but leave vengeance to God.
I will defend the vulnerable, but remember that Jesus is their Savior—not me.

And I will never allow the darkness I encounter to change the light God placed inside of me.

The lion can be bold, but the lion still has a Shepherd.

God is saying to you today:

“I did not rescue you so you could keep your story to yourself. I brought you through the darkness so you could help others find their way out.

The battles you’ve survived were not wasted. The wounds you’ve carried have become places where My grace shines brightest. When you walk into a room, people may not always understand what they’re sensing, but they recognize authenticity, compassion, and hope.

You know what it’s like to be broken. You know what it’s like to struggle, to fall, and to wonder if life is worth living. That is why I can trust you with people who are hurting. Not because you are perfect, but because you are willing.

Keep showing up. Keep loving people. Keep listening. Keep speaking truth. Keep pointing people toward healing. The light you carry was forged in valleys, refined through hardship, and strengthened through surrender.

Don’t be discouraged when the road is difficult or when others misunderstand your heart. Your assignment was never to impress people. Your assignment is to serve them.

Every recovery meeting, every softball game, every conversation, every prayer, every moment you choose compassion over judgment matters more than you know.

I am using your story to remind people that addiction is not the end, trauma is not the end, failure is not the end, and despair is not the end.

Walk boldly, not because of who you are, but because of whose you are. Continue to be a voice of hope, a bridge to healing, and a reminder that no one is beyond redemption.”

“God pulled me out of battles I hid behind smiles, addiction, trauma, and silence.
Places nobody knew I was dying in.
That’s why I’ll spend the rest of my life telling people about the God who refused to let me die.”
