Jack is a 7 year old Lab who was diagnosed with soft-tissue sarcoma in his left, hind leg earlier this year. He underwent surgery at that time, but the veterinarian was unable to get the clean margins they had hoped for and the tumor returned just two months later.
The family was told amputation was Jack's best bet at that point, but a veterinary specialist brought into the case was able to go a different route. The doctor performed an aggressive removal of the tumor and surrounding tissue, saving Jack's leg in the process.
Thank you to the Louis Steinwedel Memorial Pet Cancer Fund, Harley's Hope was able to assist the family to the best of our ability. And, while we hope against hope that Jack enjoys lengthy remission, we know that, sadly, recurrence in cancer cases is always a possibility.
If you'd like to donate to the fund to help other pets, like Jack, who are diagnosed with cancer, please visit our donations page - https://www.harleys-hopefoundation.org/donations/ - and let us know what you'd like your gift to support. Thank you!
