It's time for the Lazy Dog Restaurant Fundraiser for Harley's Hope. Just show the flyer to your server or, when ordering take-out, use the code on the flyer and 15% of your total bill gets donated to help keep pets and people together. Simple!

The fundraiser runs from today through next Sunday, October 18th, and is effective all day, each day! Please share with your friends, co-workers, and family and help us save more precious pet lives.

This lovely lady is Cista Cista, a 3 year old cat that recently underwent an emergency cystotomy at Planned Pethood International to remove a urinary blockage. Cista Cista lives with her person, Shantel, who has been dealing with her own serious medical issues and needed assistance to get her cat the help she needed, when she needed it.

LittleMan is a 13 year old Shepherd mix undergoing treatment for Stage II Hemangiosarcoma. He is being treated in LIttleton and, sadly, his person Johanna, is also dealing with her cat being diagnosed with cancer the same day she received the news about LittleMan. We're keeping both companions and Johanna in our thoughts as they fight this awful disease, and are grateful to the Steinwedel Family for year two funding of the Louis Steinwedel Memorial Pet Cancer Fund that is helping Johanna with the cost of treatment.

Today is Breast Cancer Awareness Day for humans, but did you know that breast (mammary) cancer is all too common and life-threatening to pets? 50% of mammary tumors in dogs are cancerous, while that figure jumps to 80-90% malignancy in cats with mammary tumors.

Learn the warning signs of pet cancers along with available treatments at our Pet Cancer Awareness Seminar on Saturday, November 14th (November is Pet Cancer Awareness Month). Dr. Andrew Ciccolini will present and provide valuable information and handouts to attending pet parents. The cost is free and the seminar will be held at Pikes Peak State College, Rampart Range Campus.
