⚠️ What happens when favoritism + power goes unchecked?

In tiny Cohutta, Georgia (pop. ~1,000), the mayor just fired the entire 10-person police department overnight.

Why? Officers raised concerns that his wife — the former town clerk — still had access to residents’ personal and classified info even after she was let go. They pushed for transparency. Days after a public meeting claiming everything was “resolved,” the mayor shut it all down. 

No warning. No hearing.

Just a sign on the door: “The PD has been dissolved, and all personnel have been terminated.”

Now this small town has zero local cops. The county sheriff is stepping in, but response times are expected to suffer. Officers call it a personal vendetta. A special council meeting is set for Friday to push for reinstatement and possibly remove the mayor. 
This wasn’t policy. It was straight retaliation.

This is exactly why we watch this stuff.

Because when a mayor can wipe out an entire police force to protect his own, it shows how quickly power turns personal. Today it’s a small Georgia town. Tomorrow it could be your community, your officials, your safety.

Unchecked favoritism doesn’t stay quiet. It grows.

Just received the full Empirical Scoring System (ESS-M) report performed by Lafayette Instrument Company.

Result: NO SIGNIFICANT REACTIONS INDICATIVE OF DECEPTION
• Posterior odds: 999 to 1 in favor of truth-telling (>99% probability)
• Lower limit: 42.5 to 1 (still extremely strong)
• Bayes factor: 999

Katherine was asked specific questions about Deputy Mattos (whether she was a gang member, conversations with her husband, events at the gas pump, etc.).

All relevant questions came back NDI/NSR — No Deception Indicated / No Significant Reaction.

This was a professional, evidence-based polygraph examination using a standardized Bayesian model. The data is clear: Katherine passed with flying colors.
