Volunteers for Community

Volunteers for Community Enriching lives and celebrating nature in southern Colorado. Welcome to our page! Some of us volunteer a few hours a year, and some a few hours a week.

We're a bunch of friendly Southern Colorado folks of all ages, kids to seniors, who enjoy finding new ways to help out in our communities. We have more than 20 projects in three counties. One of them is sure to fit you! We help in elementary school classrooms, collect and distribute food, clean highways, make gifts for vets and others, recycle cardboard, and work in the community gardens we sponso

r. We have a huge gift-giving party every Christmas - this year we gave bags of presents to 76 Southern Colorado kids. Our dues are $5 and five hours of volunteering a year. You'll find more about us, and a more complete list of our doings, on our website, www.volunteersforcommunity.org Also, please consider a tax-deductible charitable contribution to Sangre de Cristo Volunteers for Community. We have no administrative overhead, since we are all volunteers! Your contribution goes directly into the communities we serve.

The Sangre de Cristo Volunteers for Community cordially invite you to join us on Sunday, August 9th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the VFC. It's a chance for our Greenhorn Valley Community to be together after all we have been through.

Greenhorn Valley friends - this concert is in a few more hours!!

Put on your dancing' shoes on!! How about some classic rock - n- roll tunes with our very own local, Whiskey Sky. They plan to pull out their best of the best in this 2-hour concert on Sunday, August 9th. B

We will be opening the doors at 5 p.m. to secure your best seat in the house. We will be starting out in our event room (yes, there is AC). If we have more than 80 folks (that number includes the band and volunteers) we will have our overflow folks sit on the patio. Come prepared with sunscreen, water, a chair and potentially shade if the patio fills up.

The suggested donation is $10 per person to support the mission and varied projects of the VFC. During intermission, we will pass the hat to collect donations for our families impacted by the Applewood Fire in June.

High Octane and Zo's Lemonade-ish will be at our event with dinner and dessert if you so choose. Come hungry and support our local businesses. Or you may bring your own!!

Be there or be square!!

PS We are looking for volunteers for the Sept 13th concert. We are especially in need of folks to help in the Parking Lot Krewe. How about it? Please message us here on Facebook or email me at Terry Wise - [email protected]. It takes a village to host these types of events. And, we are excited.

Please note these concerts are funded in part by the Robert Hoag Rawlings Foundation and also in part funded by the City and County of Pueblo.
