I'm excited to say August 1st is opening day for Squirrel hunting! We are almost back in the woods & I couldn't be happier about it, we still have some funds left from the donation we received from the Sons of the American Legion Post 203 Georgetown, IL 61846 & will get to planning an activity. Some folks say they don't hunt squirrels until the first frost but I'm too excited to wait.

Hope everyone is doing well, I started a new job so I'm a bit busy till I get laid off in the fall but that works out because we'll be back to hunting which is exactly what this group is about! If you need anything or you're hurting please reach out! Remember to get your hunting license squared away before the season!

Let's get together for a few hours & try to find some antlers! Might try and fish a bit too. In the spirit of March my wife is planning on making us a traditional Irish meal of corned beef and cabbage with red potatoes! Hope to meet more of my local veterans.

I wasn't sure I would see anything today because of the weather but I was wrong. 0830 I spooked up two Doe's, then shortly after that I saw a handful of turkeys. Found a few more deer then eventually found me a Squirrel honey hole.

Hope everyone has had a great start to the year! Deer season might be over but we still have time for a squirrel hunt. I'm assuming it'll still be as cold as Frosty's carrot so we'll have soup or chilli to warm our belly.
