At Authors for Fosters, we believe in the power of books and the power of writing. As a future English teacher, I am a strong believer in the benefits of reading, creative thinking, writing, and drawing. As someone with foster siblings, I believe that every child should have the opportunity to own their own books and private journals to have with them every step of the way. Sometimes life can be a bit unstable and temporary, so we'd like to offer children in foster care the chance to have something of their own. We hope that these books and journals will be a way for these children to find peace, adventure, comfort, stability, motivation, an escape, or a new interest. We want all children to read, but more importantly, we want all children to find something they love, find something to relate to, find something to believe in, find their creative spirit, and to find their voice. The opportunity to read and write is such a blessing to so many people.
