Camp Tonkawa Outdoor Learning Center, Inc. Nature Awareness Learning Center Camp Tonkawa is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that was founded by the Holtzman family in 2002.

It's on a 35-acre certified wildlife refuge, about one hour north of Dallas. The woods of oak and juniper have plenty of trails, plus we have a small creek, fishing pond, swimming pond, pasture area, organic garden, barn, long house teaching area, straw bale arts & crafts building, rain water collection tank, and outdoor solar showers.

Kids don’t need much at a campsite. Dirt and water will keep them busy longer than anything with batteries.

Some of our best memories look exactly like this.
