Gamilah Unbridled Rescue Liberty Project 2022 🙌

We’ve selected 5 of the toughest rescue horses across the country from 501c3 nonprofit organizations, the ones who are the most misunderstood, or who have habits formed that are dangerous to others and themselves. We’ll be taking them in from January-May, training them using Liberty techniques only. All while, documenting their journey into their ow

n healing and education using no ropes, or halters, to not only educate these horses, but to show how much I believe in Liberty being the way of the future. Everyday of the week, we will be highlighting one of the lucky horses selected to spend time with us at Gamilah Unbridled. April 16-October 16, 2021

Gamilah and Hal completed a 2500 mile journey across the United States, completely bridlesless. We traveled through 9 states and stopped at 17 non-profits along with the way. Helping raise more than 50k dollars for the local non-profits, while helping educate people and horses along the way.

We may not get time to ride together during this phase of life, but we find ways to make it all work. One things for sure, our horses aren’t afraid of strollers and crying, and our babies aren’t afraid of horses and chores. 🤣

This is a pretty epic picture with this beautiful horse rearing, but unfortunately, it wasn't on cue! 😂

Liberty, unlike anything else we have found, is the safest and most relatable way to help a horse through these moments. When a horse feels the need to go up instead of finding that relaxed forward energy, the worst thing we can do is hold them down or get into a fight. We have to look past the behavior and figure out what they are trying to tell us—and usually, it's just a feeling of being stuck in their mind without a clear idea of what to do.

Moments like this force us to slow down and build that relaxed forward energy we look for in every single aspect of horsemanship. To me, forward isn't just about speed; it's any rhythmic, relaxed movement going in any direction. When we can help them find that rhythm, the mental block melts away.

It’s definitely not always a perfect textbook moment out there, but that’s the true beauty of the journey!

Happy Birthday, Mr. Ru.

To be totally transparent, playing with you this past year has been harder than I ever could have imagined being reminded of your Mom through your eyes.

We’ve had our moments of frustration, but every single day I’m out there with you, your personality reminds me of a perfect mix between Gami and Leo. When I look at you, your eyes are all your mom—the kindness, the love, and that same unmistakable fire.

Still, every day things get a little easier, and the breakthroughs feel that much sweeter. You make me smile constantly with your goofy, sweet personality. Every morning when I walk out the back door, you spot me from across the pasture and give me a little neigh. You’re the first horse to ever consistently greet me like that, and knowing it's just because you see me—not just because it's feeding time—means more than I can say.

We have a lot of lofty goals ahead of us, but my most important promise to you is to always remind you how special you are just for being you. You never have to live in anyone else's shadow, and you never have to compare to your legendary mother or your best friend.

Thank you for choosing to trust me, for the morning greetings, and for keeping me on my toes. Here’s to many more years, Ru, and to all the moments we have yet to share. ❤️

We talk a lot about freedom in the liberty world, but the reality is that none of us would have the freedoms we enjoy every single day without the sacrifices made by those who served to keep us and our country safe.

Today, we honor and thank all of them — especially those who gave everything, and the families and loved ones who carry that sacrifice with them every day.

My father-in-law, Joel (a self-proclaimed "non-horse guy"), reminds me on a regular basis that I need to make the "show" more entertaining.

His absolute favorite piece of advice? "Patrick, you need to create a dog and pony show."

Well, ask and you shall receive!

This past weekend, I finally surprised Avery and Joel with a brand-new, fun little act featuring Floki, Nostalgia, and Niah, our dog.

For those who don’t know Niah's story, she came to us two years ago as a birthday present from Avery. She was found in Texas as an abandoned puppy alongside her mom and sister. I’d always wanted a rescue Golden Retriever, and while she might not be a full Golden, she’s got the absolute biggest heart.

Little by little, Niah is going to be joining our rescue team in the arena. Here’s to celebrating liberty with all four-legged animals! ❤️

We had such an incredibly special weekend with all of you who were apart of the liberty celebration Saturday and Rescued Hearts screening Sunday, here in Maine.

Connecting with old friends and introducing new ones to the world of liberty truly never gets old. Sometimes it still doesn’t feel real that our biggest passion in life has slowly become such a full career.

And to the ones who make it all possible, our beautiful horses, thank you for continuing to show the world the magic we feel blessed to experience every day. You all never cease to amaze us. ❤️

We’ll share more individual stories throughout the week, but for now - thank you, thank you, thank you. 🙏
