This is what coming full circle looks like. 💙

Years ago, Meagan came to Head Start as a child at the Mineral Wells campus.

Today, she serves as an Early Head Start Teacher in that very same building. The same campus where she once learned, played, and felt safe is now the campus CCAA has renovated and proudly reopened for a new generation of children and families.

Recently, Meagan shared her story with us in her own words:

“My name is Meagan. I am an Early Head Start Teacher.

I grew up in some tough and unfortunate circumstances, where life was not always fair, comfortable, or safe.

As a child, Head Start gave me a safe space to sleep and eat. It was one of the only constants in my life as a young child.

I remember being in the classroom and my teacher would pretend we were Goldilocks and the Three Bears while we ate oatmeal for breakfast. I remember when community helpers visited, and the petting zoo. I remember the 100th day of school.

My teacher would always find a way to make the day fun, whether it was tracing our bodies out on paper, telling stories with her giant books, or simply just showing us how to brush our teeth.

When I started grade school, my Nana would take me back to Head Start, at this very building, to visit my old teacher.

She, as well as many other teachers in my life, impacted the way I viewed adults.

Now, as an Early Head Start teacher, I make it my mission to be a safe space for children. I try to give them a positive experience in their day, and I love each one as my own.”

That little girl in these photos is now helping shape the lives of children in the very same place that helped shape hers.

There is something special about that.

This week, we celebrated the renovation and open house of our Mineral Wells campus. For Meagan, it is more than a renovated building. It is a place filled with memories, growth, and purpose.

Her story is a beautiful reminder that the work we do today can stay with a child for a lifetime.

Sometimes the children who once needed a safe place grow up to become the people who create one. ❤️

We’re looking for dependable, caring individuals who enjoy working with children and creating a safe, positive environment.

✅ Part-time
✅ Must be 18 or older
✅ High school diploma or GED required
✅ Experience working with children preferred
