Yesterday was another incredible day of teamwork and compassion 💙🐾

💉 Several times a year, more than 30 dedicated SCFN volunteers, alongside an amazing team of volunteer veterinary technicians and the incredible Dr. Burton, come together at Brevard County Animal Services' surgical facility for a one-day spay and neuter clinic dedicated to Brevard County's community and feral cats.

🫶🏻 Thanks to the tireless efforts of our local trappers, dozens of cats received the care they needed—from spay/neuter surgeries to treatment for injuries—giving them a healthier future while helping reduce the number of kittens born outdoors.

🩺 While spays and neuters are the foundation of these clinics, they often become so much more. We regularly discover cats with broken or painful teeth, claws that have curled and grown into their paw pads causing infection, abscesses, wounds, and other conditions that have gone untreated for far too long.

❤️‍🩹 Sometimes, we uncover heartbreaking reminders of the hardships these cats endure. Yesterday, one cat was found to have a pellet lodged in his chest. Sadly, finding BBs or pellets embedded beneath the skin isn't uncommon for community cats, and it's a sobering reminder of what many of them face simply trying to survive.

✨ Space Coast Feline Network is truly humbled by the generosity of everyone who gives their time, skills, and heart to this mission. Thank you to our volunteers, our trappers, Brevard County Animal Services for allowing us the use of their facility, and Dr. Burton for turning an ordinary Sunday into a day that changed the lives of cats who otherwise may never have received care.

💞 As a nonprofit organization, clinics like these are only possible because of the support of our community. Every medical supply used, every surgery performed, and every follow-up veterinary visit for cats needing more extensive care is funded through donations. If you'd like to help us continue this work, we're grateful for every contribution, no matter the size. Today is Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day. 🌈🐾

Today we pause to remember the cats who have left paw prints not only on our hearts, but on the very soul of our organization.

Each one who crossed our path had a story. Some arrived frightened and forgotten. Some came to us sick, injured, or abandoned. Others spent years calling our sanctuary home. No matter how long they were with us, they were loved beyond measure.

Rescue is filled with joyful moments, but it also comes with heartbreaking goodbyes. The hardest promise we make is that when the time comes, they will never face it alone. They leave this world knowing kindness, comfort, full bellies, gentle hands, and unconditional love.

Today, we remember each of the precious lives we've had to say goodbye to this past year. Though they are no longer with us, their memories continue to inspire why we do what we do every single day.

Run free, sweet ones. Until we meet again at the Rainbow Bridge. 🌈❤️🕯️

🐾 Meet the Ace Hardware Kittens (again!)
— Still Waiting for Their People! 🐾

Some of you may remember our trapping efforts back in May, at the Ace Hardware in Viera. We successfully trapped Mom, who was TNR’d after attempts to acclimate her to indoor life showed that she was truly feral. Her five babies that were trapped were placed in foster homes so they could have the chance at indoor lives and forever families.

One of the kittens has already been adopted, but the other four siblings are still waiting. ❤️

The two sisters are food-motivated, sweet, and ready for their forever homes! They’ve made wonderful progress and are ready to find families of their own.

The two brothers are a little different. They are still very dependent on one another and haven’t yet gained the confidence to seek out human attention. They’ve been placed in several different foster homes due to the duration of how long they’ve been with us. They are not mean or aggressive—they’re simply still very wary and need patience, time, and someone experienced in helping shy cats come out of their shells.

We would love to find:

🏡 Forever homes for either or both of the sisters

🐱 An experienced foster who is skilled in socializing cats, with the potential for foster-to-adopt, for the brothers

❤️ A foster-to-adopt or committed foster home willing to give the boys the time and patience they need

Please consider opening your heart and home to one of these deserving kittens. They’ve come so far, and they deserve the chance to know what a safe, loving forever home feels like.

🐾 Meet Our Newest Tower Residents! 🐾
Four adorable kittens have officially moved into our adoption tower at Pet Supermarket in Titus Landing, Titusville, and they're ready to charm their way into your heart! ❤️

🐱 Milo 💙

These four sweet siblings (3 girls and 1 boy), about 4 months old, got their second chance thanks to a TNR project. When volunteers found Mama Poppy living outside with her 4 week old kittens late one night, they were brought into foster where it was discovered that she wasn't feral at all—but an incredibly loving, friendly cat—they brought the whole little family into foster care together.

Now the kittens are ready to begin their next adventure: finding forever homes of their own! 🏡

And don't forget about Mama Poppy! 🌼 She's available for adoption while in foster care and is just as deserving of a family to call her own. After raising her babies, it's finally her turn to be someone's beloved pet.

💜 Our kittens are adopted in pairs or to homes with another young, playful cat. Growing up with a feline friend helps them build confidence, burn off kitten energy, and keeps them happy and well-socialized.
