Dear friends,
I have great news to share.
From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank every single person who stood up last night and voted NO to Karen McDonald for Attorney General. Your voice has given me something I have not felt in a long time—hope and strength.
After seven years, for the first time, I felt a glimpse of joy in my heart.
Because through your voice, I know that Denis matters.
I know that Denis is not forgotten.
I know that his life still has meaning, and that his voice is still being heard.
Thank you to everyone who was in that room, at that convention, who made the choice to stand with families like mine. Your decision mattered more than you may ever realize.
For the past two years, I have been fighting—speaking, writing, reaching out—trying to get someone, anyone, to listen to my son’s case. I contacted local media—Channel 2, Channel 4, Channel 7—but no one wanted to go against Karen McDonald.
No one—except two fearless voices who refused to stay silent and had the courage to stand by the truth: the remarkable journalist George Hunter of The Detroit News and the relentless Tresa Baldas of The Detroit Free Press.
They are my heroes.
They became Denis’s voice when others chose silence. They saw the truth, they wrote the truth, and they were not afraid of power or influence. Because of them, our story reached you.
To both of them—thank you.
And to all of you who listened, who cared, and who took action—thank you for standing with victims’ families.
Thank you for proving that our voices matter. And thank you for saying "NO TO KAREN".
Justice for Denis.
Justice for all victims families.
My dear fellow Michiganders, Thank you. Thank you for listening to a grieving mother. Thank you for hearing my voice. And today—thank you for showing me what truly matters.Today, you reminded me who has the loudest voice in this country. Not power. Not money. Not campaign donations. Not connections. T...
