GOD SEES WHAT PEOPLE CANNOT.
1 Corinthians 4:3–6

You can impress people with your words, win them with your personality, and gain their approval through your public actions. But who you are in secret will eventually be revealed through the trials you face.
Trials don't simply reveal what we do; they often expose what is already in our hearts.
Paul reminds us that people may judge our outward actions, but God examines both our actions and the motives of our hearts. We may fool people, and we may even deceive ourselves, but we will never deceive God.
This is why we must be careful about how quickly we judge others. We don't see the whole picture, and we don't know every motive. The Lord alone sees perfectly and judges righteously.
And when it comes to spiritual leadership, the standard is not personality, popularity, or charisma. The standard is faithfulness to Christ and His Word.
Ultimately, the question isn't how impressive we appear before people, but how faithful we are before God.
People may applaud your public performance, but God examines your private character.
