2026 will go down as one of the worst, and yes, probably the worst, snow season ever. That said, the gates have been closed at 550 & 129.

The lack of snow forced us to cancel our Poker Run. However the snow club was still able to sponsor Pivotal Impact’s Together We Ride event thanks to numerous sponsors that asked to pass along their Poker Run sponsorship dollars to the event. Below a thank you we received. It’s great to see the impact this had for numerous businesses (listed below) and individuals.

This year, we hosted 13 Active Duty Military, Military Veterans, and First Responders, and 3 spouse/partners. Also in attendance were 4 Military Veterans, and 1 recently-retired law enforcement officer, all who served as Speakers and Peer Supporters—proving to be one of the most valuable aspects of our Retreat model.

Post-Retreat Evaluations resulted in an average score of 9.85, with highly favorable comments about the Program’s value compared to other mental health/wellness programs that the participants had attended.

Routt Powder Riders is hosting a unique snowmobile event in partnership with Grand, Routt, and Jackson counties Search & Rescue, Tyler's Backcountry Awareness, Friends of CAIC, CPW, and CSR. It's a team challenge to practice avy and backcountry snowmobile skills - aka an "Easter Egg" beacon hunt along with a few other fun challenges. It's an ideal chance to practice avy skills with riding groups plus a super fun day to spend on the snow with friends - especially with such a tough snow year and other events being cancelled. Well, the 2 day winter is over. I feel like we never really got started this year and are on our 3rd mud season.

We groomed about half as many hours as we normally would, started late and ended early. Our last run was yesterday bringing the Pisten Bully home from Vista Verde Ranch. Big thank you to Chris Jones and his team for letting us park our cat there to groom the Seedhouse section of trail on a regular basis.

Our club has started picking up poles and we are done grooming for the year. The Hahns Peak Basin trails have dirt showing and probably won't survive this week's warm temps.

Thanks to all the volunteers that make this club run. It takes Hahns Peak Village to groom a snowmobile trail.

It was a tough decision, but due to lack of snow we have decided to cancel this years poker run. We look forward to this event all year, so it is very disappointing to have to cancel.

Hopefully next year will be a better year, and we’ll see you then!

If you’ve signed up already, we will be getting refunds out to you.

Good morning North Routt. The sun is shining and it's a great day to go outside!

Parade of Garages starts tonight at 5PM at Emmy's Ranch. We will depart ER for Triple M at 6:30PM. (Previous FB itinerary has changed slightly)

Both barns can be accessed from our trail system and are groomed and well marked. We have a COTREX map available that show the exact route if anyone needs it. It's included below but I am not sure you can import it from FB. DM us if it doesn't work.

Here are 4 images of Cotrx map to the Parage of Garages locations. Each location is just a short ride off the groomed trail, which will be well marked, ridden, and possibly groomed. The pink line is the route between the 2 stops, and can be accessed from anywhere on the trail system.
Emmys Ranch will be the 1st stop located on the south side of the lake at the bottom of the map. By car/truck it’s located off Cty Rd 62, turn east on The Quay, and follow it to the end, which is Emmys Ranch.
Triple M Ranch will be the 2nd stop located just north of Hahn’s Peak Village. By car/truck drive through Hahn’s Peak Village through the S turn at the very back of the village and then left up the driveway. Signs will be posted.
You can also view the route on the Cotrex App. Once logged into Cotrex follow NRSR, then go to “custom routes” and click on “Parade of Garages”.

Here is a little information about our club event tomorrow. Our club has worked hard to try and have a social event every month of winter. This month's event is called the Parade of Garages, a pun on Denver's Parade of Homes.

It is open to everyone and some will drive to the locations but most will snowmobile from our trail system to the stops via a groomed trail. This year we are only having two stops and they are both barns.

Light appetizers and drinks will be served at each stop.

You can start from any location you want. We originally thought the Elkhorn South lot would be best but have since eliminated the Columbine stop. The Steamboat Lake Marina would be a great trailhead as the first stop is Emmys Ranch on the South side of Steamboat Lake and the second stop is Triple M Ranch behind Hahns Peak Village.
