Our Story
The founder of Fitness for a Cause is Mary Ann, a Filipino Cebuana who immigrated to Colorado, U.S.A. 2010. Feeling helpless in Philippine natural disasters devastating kids and their families, Mary Ann wanted to take direct action. An avid ZUMBA
Instructor, Mary Ann started collecting toys & raising funds through ZUMBA events and sending boxes of toys and funds to her family in the Philippines who take the time to personally deliver aid and supplies to families in remote areas of the Philippines. Mary Ann has also held ZUMBA events across the Philippines, including remote local barrio communities where kids and families have a fun time through ZUMBA Fitness while toys and aid is delivered. A unique aspect of Fitness for a Cause includes the transparency and trust of where funds and donations go, particularly since Mary Ann and her family personally deliver basic necessities such as sacks of rice, canned goods, water etc. to families in need and also mainly give away toys to less fortunate children. Come join and support us as we make strides in helping and healing less-fortunate kids and families.
