It's mission is that children, youth, and families to live in safe and nurturing environments that promote health, independence and success. Building Families will create a continuum of supports and services that embrace children and their families. Development Screenings - There are approximately 2,000 days between birth and
the first day of kindergarten. Identifying developmental delays or opportunities to improve on a child’s social and emotional development is crucial during these early years of life. In-Home Parenting - The Parent Connection offers this program for parents and families who may not be as comfortable attending parenting classes in a larger group setting. Nurturing Parenting Group Class - The Nurturing Parenting ® program is an evidenced based curriculum that focuses on developing skills to increase empathy, ensure a proper understanding of child development, examine beliefs regarding disciplining and identify more effective forms of guiding behavior. Positive Solutions for Families Class - The Positive Solutions for Families workshops are part of the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework that is used in area childcare settings, preschools and schools. Parent Connection Advisory Council/Child Abuse Prevention Council was formed to serve children and families in Hamilton, Humboldt, and Wright Counties.
