Keep Cisco Beautiful has chosen Kathy and Kenneth Preston for “The Yard of the Month” for June. Their address is 1208 Park Drive in Cisco. The lawn is beautifully manicured with curved flowerbeds, and the colors create simple but elegant design. The white picket fence adds charm and a French cottage to the landscape. If you get the chance, drive by and see for yourself! Keep up the good work Kathy and Kenneth making Cisco a beautiful place to live. KCB is also looking for nominations for future awards. On March 31, Keep Texas Beautiful and the West Central Texas Council of Governments brought West Texas communities together in Abilene for a Regional Training rooted in something simple, but powerful: connection.⁠
⁠
Leaders from across the region shared ideas, swapped stories, and explored tools like litter data, recycling, and outreach — but one message stood out:⁠

💬 “We are all facing similar challenges regardless of size.”⁠
⁠
Participants left ready to take action — using litter data more effectively, strengthening volunteer engagement, leveling up outreach, and turning cleanups into moments of connection.⁠

Thank you to Sonic for drink gift cards for our volunteers and Cisco Donuts for the delicious donuts. Thank you to our volunteers-the Boy Scouts! They may have been few but they were mighty! They cleaned all of Conrad Hilton from the railroad track to the interstate and they collected 12 bags of litter!
Our only other volunteer Dennis Campbell picked up 6th from Conrad Hilton to the railroad tracks and he collected 4 bags. So if you see these people please give them a big thank you!

Looks like the weather is against us this morning. We will try again next Saturday at 2 pm. We will be helping with the Cookie Walk that morning so come check that out at the Broken X. We hope to see you at both!

We are happy to say we will be holding our Texas Trash Off/Great American Clean-Up on April 18th 10-12am. Our goal is to pick up litter on as many streets as possible. We will meet at the Hilton Pavilion where we will have trash bags, gloves, pick-up tools, and some vests. We will sign-up where you would like to work so we don’t have several people doing the same spots. And off we will go to make Cisco a cleaner more inviting place!

On April 25th the City will be holding a different clean-up. There will be roll-offs for big items, a tire trailer, and more at the spot where the County Barn used to be on Conrad Hilton. Time to clean out the clutter!

I had a fun weekend—Saturday we toured houses in Abilene and today we toured in Cisco and Albany! Sadly we didn’t get to all the houses in Albany! All the houses were amazing—so many styles and such creativity!!! I had different crews with me for each tour. Thanks to all these people that shared their homes and their love of Christmas!

Today’s the last day to buy your tickets for the Treasure Hunt! We will pick up all the tickets today by 5 to start the drawing. We will post a list of the participating businesses later today. There are over 100 Treasures to be found! Several businesses are doing several numbers—more chances to win!!! The hunt will begin tomorrow afternoon. Happy Hunting!
