Town of Wallkill Boys & Girls Club Town of Wallkill Boys & Girls Club carves out space, time, and attention for nearly 2,000 local kids annually who need us.

We provide kids in Orange & Sullivan Counties a safe place to learn and programs that help them be kind, confident, and capable. Our Mission:
"To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens." We are the positive place for kids in Sullivan & Orange, serving more than 3500 kids annually.

The start of a new month means...🥁 it's time to announce our June Member of the Month!

We are so excited to recognize Braeden, a treasured Club Kid from Liberty Middle School this month! We'll keep it simple: Braeden is a kind and hardworking kid. He sets a positive example for the younger students by actively participating in activities, following our Club rules, and always encouraging his peers... all with a smile on his face.

Braeden embodies what Boys & Girls Clubs of America stands for: he's helpful, inclusive, and responsible. 💙 We're so lucky to have them!

Our Members of the Month get some extra special perks, like planning activities for the group and being assigned structured roles that encourage their peers to look to them as leaders. 🫶🏼

Lifting up worthy causes in our community is a big part of our ethos here at Town of Wallkill Boys & Girls Club. 🤝🏼 Engaging in community service helps children broaden their social circles, enhance social awareness, and learn the importance of giving back – all of which contribute to their self-confidence and overall psychological well-being! 💙

This spring, our Club Kids engaged in fundraising efforts like coin drops and bake sales to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. 🫶🏼 Little by little, their efforts started to add up... and they raised over $2,100! We are so proud of them today and every day.

Big thanks to Barbi and Shane for presenting a check (on behalf of our Club Kids!) to Thunder 102's Radio-Thon for St. Jude.

Club Kids from Monticello High School and RJK Middle School got a special treat this May... an immersive visit to Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament! 🏰🐴

Club Kids with consistent program attendance,📝 positive attitudes and behaviors,☺️ and meaningful use of our program's Power Hour tutors📚 were treated to this trip to celebrate all of there achievements this school year.

Last month, our dear friends from RTX's Pratt & Whitney business unit spent the afternoon engaging in hands-on day STEM exploration with our Club Kids! 🔬🚀⚛️

RTX Corporation is a global leader in designing, manufacturing, and servicing aircraft engines and auxiliary power units for commercial, military, and business aviation.

It was so cool for our Club Kids to get an inside look into the work RTX does every day! Club Kids were given coloring sheets to design their very own plane,✈️ and were given all the tools they needed to actually build their model plane. It was so special to see all of the planning come together and the planes take off in flight!

Some of our Club Kids had never done a STEM project like this, and honestly, they had such a fun time and can't wait for Pratt Whitney to come back. 🫶🏼

Our annual Family Engagement Day at Walnut Mountain was a hit! 🥳🎈 Club Kids from our programs at Liberty Elementary and Middle Schools came together to eat, connect, and celebrate spring!

4H came with farm animals, there were endless carnival games and face painting, a rousing match of kickball, delicious lunch followed by shaved ice, and the one and only Mr. Balloon-a-Kiss!

We had SO much fun spending time with the families who call The Club a home away from home. 💙 Thank you all for joining us!

If you know The Club, you know our Director of Operations, Shane Merone. He works tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure Club Staff + Kids have everything they need to make their days run smoothly, and somehow, he makes it all look easy. 💙 Shane has been on our team for 1️⃣6️⃣ years, and as far as we can tell, there's nothing he can't do!

Today is Shane's birthday,🎂 which you probably wouldn't know because he doesn't do the best job talking about himself, so we will! 😇 Happy birthday to everyone's favorite co-worker and lowkey dad/brother/bestie to everyone in the office. We just love 'em to bits! 🫶🏼

Okay, we have a couple of things to say... first of all, to say that we're moved by how many of you came together to support us on Hudson Valley Gives would be the understatement of the century. ⛰️💛

You helped us raise $13,142 for our Summer Camp Scholarship Fund in👏🏽 a👏🏽 single👏🏽 day👏🏽. A single day! We called on all of you, and you answered by showing up in full force.

We've participated in all 1️⃣1️⃣ years of Hudson Valley Gives, and thanks to you, we raised more this year than any other year! We might not have hit our stretch goal of $15,000, but seeing growth year after year means more than we can put into words. Can we get a heck yes?

Second of all, we'd like to take a moment to thank the families whose stories we shared with you yesterday: thank you. 💌 Your willingness to share your deeply personal stories with us is a privilege. We are so thrilled that we did you proud, and can't wait to carry on your legacy through every scholarship we award this year and beyond. ✨

This is our last post of the day, friends! All of us at Town of Wallkill Boys & Girls Club are in awe of how our community showed up to support our Summer Camp Scholarship Fund on Hudson Valley Gives today. 🌞 You reminded us how much our community cares about helping kids living below the poverty line access the joy, comfort, learning, and laughter that our award-winning summer camp offers. 🫶🏽

We only need to raise $2,432 to reach our $15,000 Summer Camp Scholarship Fund goal, and you can help!
